LIVE ships not showing

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

during tech alpha there was a option to turn on and off live ship traffic in settings and now i do not see that and can see no ships

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? yes

  1. errrr load the game
  2. go to online settings
  3. see no option

Interesting, I did not notice any ships either, I will do more tests and report.

Edit: Confirmed, no ships but I heard that it is related to the draw distance.

The problem is that there are ships, but not visible. You can check this by pressing Alt+2 (then you see the names of the “ghost”-ships). Another thing to be fixed.

The settings for Sea Traffic where you turn it to Ultra in the „Graphics“ settings might perhaps only affect the graphic fidelity and the amount of ships. Have you also enabled AI traffic in the „Online“ settings?

There is only an Air Traffic in career , in the online tab, I don’t see anything else

Aircraft Traffic Type is set to Real-Time Online, it’s one option above. Try to change to AI offline to see if it makes a difference.

I did like 170ish missions in career mode and never did I see a single ship or plane in the sky, I see planes on airports but that’s it.
It’s like I’m in “I am Legend” movie and I’m the last person on earth.
I have everything enabled for traffic but didn’t see any.

I have seen zero ships in career mode. Today I saw zero ships at the Panama Canal. IRL there are always a lot of ships there.

We are unable to reproduce this issue as our team sees live ships. We have Sea Traffic set to high under General > Graphics > Sea Traffic.

I haven’t seen any single ship since I started playing MSFS 2024 on November 20th…
My setting are move on all way like “Sea Traffic set to high under General > Graphics > Sea Traffic”…
Please investigate more

Draw distance is absolutely terrible in fs24.

Here too, with the latest update, I still can’t see any ship. My settings are toward the Highs and Ultra for traffic.

But I heard that we need to get too close to see them.

Maybe ships appear in the same way the Aircraft parked at the gate, we need to get very close to see them appear or fade in…

If this is the case, then we need to enable the AI labels to know where the ships are and get close enough to see it?

I do not use Labels for AI.

I can see ships in free flight mode, but I’ve never seen any ship in career mode (meanwhile the live air traffic works). My Sea traffic setting is also high and I’ve turn on live traffic in career mode.

There are 100% no ships and no airplanes in career mode, I have been playing since launch I am level 112 did countless of missions and seen ZERO.
There are only airplanes/heli’s parked at airfields that’s it.
You need to investigate further maybe a network issue where some people are blocked.
