Yes problem is still occurring in SU10. Until this thread is not flagged has bug-logged and a fix comes in the release notes of a next Sim Update, problem will still happen. Unless issue is on server side and can be fixed without the need of a SU. Anyway 1st it needs to be moved as bug-logged.
Zero cloud and wrong wind are occured when take the flight from Rome to Bulgaria at UTC 7:00-10:00. The game is still rubbish after updating.
Is it to do with the speed of our internet? Because seriously there are thousands of people flying at the same time every day, it would be a much more widespread issue if it was a weather server issue surely? What is different on our systems that only a few of us are experiencing this bug?
This is nothing on our end. This is clearly something Asobo or MS has to fix ASAP, if possible.
But why only some people? If it’s on their end surely it would affect everyone? What are they doing that we aren’t?
Also, as spectacular as this looks, it’s getting beyond a joke now…
Why do you think it’s only “some” people? I think a lot of people don’t recognize this issue at all in the first place and think, thats how the current weather is.
I don’t really think it only happened to some people, or they don’t recognize this issue. Is either they have been flying with REX, or people are just too lazy to report this issue and vote.
I have very high speed internet and still used to experience this (I don’t after disabling ipv6), so I don’t know what it is but I did use to experience it and now I don’t so it’s a mystery
It doesnt happen to me at least ^^ But maybe i dont fly long enough. Usually betwen 1 and 2 h per trip.
MP off
Live Weather on (obviously)
Bing on
PG on
Traffic off
Doubt it has to do with internetspeeds. I have DSL 100 but always watching a yt vid or something on the laptop, while flying on pc.
Have never seen it and i fly only in live weather, 100%. On most days. From Germany, around the midnight hours. ~ 1-2h back and forth.
That being said, i dont think i had many of these overcasts the last weeks/months, so maybe i really just didnt see it/didnt have these harsh conditions below me).
But i know for sure that every flight the last days had clouds and metar at the arrival airport.
Because I have a hard time believing that such a huge bug for those of us who are experiencing it is not getting more attention from everyone else in the community. I don’t see it mentioned on any other platform (Facebook groups & Reddit) apart from this thread.
Thats because I said, a lot of people don’t recognize it in the first place. The weather bug also appears during cavok. And also the bug seems to appear during 6 - 11 UTC.
But believe me, I also have a hard time understanding, why this bug isn’t getting more attention from the devs.
I agree 100%. I think half our battle is having the bug moved to “bug-logged”. At least in that way, we know Asobo are definitely aware. Because at the moment, nothing will be done while it’s at the “feedback-logged” stage.
This has been bothering me for months now and breaks the immersion. I stopped simming for a couple of months because of this, the only reason I came back today was to try SU10 (which we know hasn’t fixed the issue). So over it.
Reason 1: People are flying with REX
Reason 2: People are too lazy to report and let us do the job instead
Reason 3: Most people only fly between 1 to 2 hours of flight. For such bug to happen, they need to fly for between 3 to 6 hours. Therefore, they will never have the chance to test it themselves. Thus, no bug.
I gave up and re-installed Rex. Weather doesn’t look as good, but at least I have clouds for the whole flight now.
Things I am doing to avoid this issue:
During 6 - 11 UTC i fly with REX only
After 11 UTC I fly with default weather
So far this method is working good. As soon as this issue appears, I swap to clear skies and apply REX weather. There is a little bit of shake during the switching, but I see no other chance so far.
I hope they take this seriously one day and fix this.
FYI: I reported this issue and i got the answer “we are aware of this”. Nothing more to say.
I did the same last night, albeit in reverse. Started the flight with Rex, then a little way through turned Rex off and turned on live weather. Then had live weather all the way to my destination.
Interesting to note the massive difference in how the weather appears between Rex and MSFS Live Weather. I know Rex only uses METAR, but the clouds just looked completely flat and lifeless.
Confirm, this bug is still there. At 07:56z today there was a windshift with a stall, I was able to recover. Since this moment no clouds and a strong headwind of 100 kn. The real weather over europe is different right now at my position.
Encountered this bug for the first time today as well, time around 9 UTC so within the mentioned 6-11 UTC problem window. Really non-immersive flying into KJFK, with stormy winds but a clear sky.
Just completed a 11:40h flight from Auckland to Seoul. Weather was fine for about 11 hours until 6:00Z. Roughly 100-200 miles from Seoul the clouds stopped being injected with a hard cloud cut. Seems the amount of time flying doesn’t matter but just something happening at 6:00Z.
Interesting though, above the city threre still were some dust / foggy areas but no other clouds whatsoever. After landing and going back to main menu and restarting a new flight from Seoul, there was FEW to SCT clouds in the area of the airport…
Really hope they acknowledge the bug ASAP. Ticket already created but closed with notice to further developer investiagtion.

I’d second this as I’ve encountered this three times in a week for now between 0500-0800z. Oct 1st it was around 0500z over Germany, yesterday about 0700z over Inverness and today somewhere between 7 and 8 over Paris where I’ve hit the line where the clouds stop rendering and clear skies after that. Every time there’s also been some abrupt wind changes where the clouds stop rendering. All have been on west europe server. I also saw the haze layer still appearing after that. On evening flights everything seems to work as expected. IPV6 is disabled, no affect.
