Location of Splash Screen - Loading Screen - Carousel in MSFS

@PlumbGlue67 Gonna take more than a few hours to search the globe for a location…

This one is especially hard because of snow and lack of reference points (roads, towns, notable terrain shapes.) This body of water could be the ocean on Alaska’s coast or a Great Lake in Canada with the new WU Canada got. Alaska is 665,400 square miles and Canada is 3.8 Million square miles. Happy hunting!

I used to see that, it’s no longer in the group of pictures included with MSFS. Does anyone have a full-size version of that so I can add it to my collection?

Momella Lakes, Tanzania

„This location can be seen at the start the Xbox gameplay trailer, and includes numerous fauna species. However, it is not marked on the world map. It could therefore be considered an easter egg. There is a small pier perfect for docking a small seaplane, and the area is surrounded by the beautiful Arusha National Park and nearby Mount Kilimanjaro.“

Unfortunately that site seems to be shutting down its service (according to the „radar service terminated“ notification already by „end November 2022“).

UPDATE: If you want to get there - and elsewhere - conveniently:

. . . and can anyone remind me what aircraft this is?

I have tried to find it in the “hangar” but I didn’t see it.  Maybe I didn’t recognize it?

Are you talking about IRL, or within the sim?

If you do fly it IRL, how accurate is the sim to The Real Thing?

It is the TBM 930…

I just looked it up on line and it sounds interesting!

At a cool 4+ million USD, it’s not for the faint of wallet, but looks totally boss inside and out.

Within the Sim. I edited my original reply.

Hi, any idea about the location on this one? They should put the location on the pictures.

Thanks
Carlos

I am not sure, but I think this is France, somewhere in the north. I believe that this is even a selectable POI.

The reason I think so: this (specifically the „water masks“) was first introduced with the France world update, and there was some discussion about those water masks at the time, that they didn‘t quite look as in the trailer video (or as in the image above).

I am sure others can shed more light on this.

@Steeler2340 Was correct and led me to the North of France. St Valery-Sur-Somme. Nearest airport Abbeville LFOI.

Is it me or does that area look flooded out?

Surely that large area shouldn’t be under water?

Make it a #self-service:wishlist item. For Asobo to add text of the name/location of the Splash Screen(s) somewhere in the photo.

I’d love it.

Or in the metadata.

A location overlay would be nice so the picture itself isn’t marred.

I agree. In fact, now that I think about it: we wouldn‘t have this nice „where in the world is…“-discussion thread here if the images would give away where they were taken

Perhaps there could be a „knowledge base“ in the sim, for those that are super-curious and can‘t wait to get there… and maybe this knowledge base could even deliberately be „delayed“ such that it gives the community some opportunity to think about it… just an idea.

Because now I kind of like this thread here

Hi, I took the picture and placed it in my desktop to ask, later
When I found this topic I uploaded it right away but it was taken a while ago, that’s why it shows floaded, good catch
Thank you very much for your concern
Cheers
Carlos

I found it but it looks to me it is yet floaded

I am very interested in the “geo-guessing” of these locations in the sim. It’s a fun hobby although I am no pro like some folks online. Where they can find a house or road from a single frame of a movie.

I have started to compile a few of these images and would like everyone to pitch in to help find these locations! I have a feeling we are going to get an update soon, that will add a title to these images… So let’s find these ones while it’s still a mystery!
I think we can all agree these images most likely come from landing challenges, bush trips, and other activities. As well as around landmarks and POIs. Some are easier than others! Some are almost impossible to know with how little information is offered up visually!

This is the other thread that has my attention these days if you want to follow along with other FlightSimmers Screen shots from around the world.
