@RoProdMoraes Thanks for the tips on the settings… do you know which one affects the steering most? I would imagine it is the autorudder, but just wanted to check. I would hate to have to re-do all of my options just to get that to work. @RagingWombat839 maybe you know which of the settings you changed to allow you to steer in 15-30kt winds?
Before I got this feedback, we did do a livestream using this beauty in VR and, I have to say, it was a ton of fun! We sailed for almost four hours around Bora Bora in this yacht and had a great time doing so. Worked great in VR and I think we all had some fun in the chat. Will definately be taking this out on a live one again in the future. We usually stream airliners and general aviation stuff, but this is a great diversion!
You are right, I didn’t change all of them. I did change anything that might be related. So not the aircraft systems, but at least auto rudder, assisted yoke, ai pilot trim, assisted controller (but I used a hotas). Damage off of course. I don’t know if all of those were needed, you’re probably right my guess is it’s just auto rudder.
I read from another developer that the auto rudder doesn’t mean it simulates rudder control, but that instead the sim just disables yaw effects, and that would make perfect sense to control the boat.
Thanks!! I will try just the autorudder setting to see if that works! I’ll have a try later on today. Thanks again! Really was fun cruising around in this and would be great to be able to use live weather with winds > 10 knots. So hopefully that setting will do the trick!
On the tablet of the Tug Boat nothing happens when you click on anchor or mooring rope.
In addition, i had been understood that there should be other functions? But there is unfortunately no other function. So it is unfortunately just another boat with which you can drive around a bit, but can not do anything else.
It would be great to get some depth in these nice looking models, but I don’t think that’s the target here. A toy boat is not what I was looking for so I’m not buying any more.
Hi @Finnro The anchor and mooring ropes are available to click on the tablet when the boat engine is off - please try turning off the engine before pressing these buttons
Hi @MARegillus Did you say about falling from the sky when you open the app?
Which sailboat is this and which app are you referring to?
I need more information to understand if there is a conflict with some other add-on you use on your Sim
There is a new AHTS Havyard 842 update on the way. This new version includes a correction of the ship’s scale in relation to the real world, addition of 2 new loads in the payload menu, addition of ballast and level markings on the water line, addition of new liveries - there are 11 in total now - and remodeling of the project, resulting in better performance, among other improvements. Stay tuned!
@RagingWombat839 Microsoft Flight Simulator exists to fly - navigation is a different way of seeing the 3D virtual world that the game has.
In the documentation and in various texts about the ships and boats I build, I talk about the difficulty of adapting real day-to-day sailing with what the game allows you to do.
For this reason, yes, a ship never turns off its engines and generators when anchoring - it is one of the moments where it requires the most driving force to move the anchors - but in the game, as long as the engine is on, the boat will move to forward involuntarily, due to water drift, an effect that does not happen on the ground due to tire contact - and does not happen with seaplanes because the engine force is calculated as less in relation to the aircraft body.
Therefore, for the anchor and mooring ropes in the game to work it is necessary to turn off the engines
That’s right, the creation of Floating Production Storage and Offloading for MSFS is in the final stages. There will be at least 6 landable platforms in their real-world versions geographically positioned in the Campos Basin, in Rio de Janeiro. More platforms can be added in this project! There will also be a special edition where it will be possible to control and navigate the FPSO across the seas!
I have the Mega Yacht Poseidon. It won’t move a metre, even with the latest version 2.60, which was released a few days ago. The previous version went up to SU 15. Has anyone got the ship to run? I have other ships from the same supplier which all work fine.
Hi, great work! I bought your cruiser sailboat, very relaxing. But I can’t find anything to get the thing to move forward! Any secrets I need to become aware of? I’ve fiddled with engine controls and the other buttons and can’t get the motor running!
I don’t have the boat (was just browsing threads) but I can tell you the pink texture is almost always because it’s not loading properly. I have one plane that shows pink all the time when parked at an airport until I get really close. Why it’s happening on the boat…? Try reinstalling it. Other than that, I can’t be too helpful. Hopefully someone with more info comes along
Hi @SocialBark46173@SimmoW
There is a FAQ on my website where some of these reported problems can be resolved.
Unfortunately the gameplay for seaplanes can be confusing in a number of ways and this affects boats and ships in MSFS. In fact, certain settings tend to be disabled by default in the game and this causes the water vehicle to run aground, but this can be resolved by following instructions in my FAQ. Understand that this is not a product defect, just somewhat confusing default settings on the part of the simulator
In case you haven’t seen it, my new product, Super Tanker, is available on the main platforms and on the Official MSFS marketplace ready for download. It’s a mega ship measuring 274m long and with multiple functions, stay tuned!
Bringing news and updates, new boats for MSFS 2024 are in the testing phase - they are the 74ft Sport Yacht, the Coast Guard Support Boat and the Cruise Ship. They will all arrive at MSFS 2020 at some point but these current ones are in production targeting the new features of MSFS 2024, such as hard walking deck, new lights, water droplets on glass, accessible deck below the water line among other things. Stay tuned! =)
