Very anxious to see if/how KLGA works on Xbox. An updated version was definitely needed.
Disappointed to see yet another city update planned and NO world updates. Have they given up on World Updates? I really think the majority of simmers would get much more from a regional update than a few cities scattered around which, while they do look very nice, don’t match the majority of simming contexts.
Hello @Uzura2203,
According to today’s new Development Roadmap, there is a World Update planned for July 22.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Oh wow, sorry, totally missed that…
Nice to see PIE and LGA. unfortunately, another week, seems to be the norm, of majority items being routes, water fix, and more. IMO main items should be planes and airports etc. and only a few pesky items a week.
I asked this a few weeks ago, but what planes and airports are actually out for release outside the marketplace that we know are in the queue?
Only asking because every week people are complaining that we need planes and airports (which I agree on), but I can’t think of many top ones that are actually released and not yet available. I’d assume most of the planes and airports that are queued up are the lower end ones, which I’m personally not interested in buying.
Would be happy to be proven wrong here since the more of those we can get, the better. Although my wallet appreciates the delay.
Truthfully, cant they do something to slow down the VA Systems releases?
When they first came on the scene, they were just doing flight schedules for various arilines. That was fine, but I did get annoyed they had to keep ruining liveries with insisting on putting “Powered by VA Systems” on every single livery. I want a realistic flight with a realistic livery, I don’t want their advertisement on something I already purchased from them. It’s silly since nobody can see the livery on my plane. So it isn’t advertising to anyone else. Why does it have to be on a livery of something I already purchased from them.
But now it has just gotten ridiculous. Half of every release day each week is stuff from them. And its gotten out of hand. Arrival JFK, Departure JFK, Landing Challenge JFK. Base JFK, Approaches JFK, SIDs JFK, STARS JFK, etc. Come on. I don’t need 8 different mods for the same airport, and then replicate that for other airports. I want to see what is new each release, but frankly it gets hard to do that now because HALF of the releases are from VA Systems (and this has been this way for the last few weeks) and I just start skimming quickly because frankly its a bit sickening just how much they are blasting out there each week. I am sure many of their addons are overlapping content of what they have presented in other packages. Its to the point where there just is no value,
Whatever happened to that rule for the marketplace that would throttle what a developer could release?
NOTE: The other worry is, soon that category will be completely taken over and dominated by VA Systems. No one will be able to find Perfect Flights stuff, because the scrolling through the category is soon going to become unmanageable.
It would also be great to understand how these folks get through the accreditation process when folks like @mamuDesign and ourselves have been waiting in limbo for literally years but can now campaign via a public poll for our applications to be expedited.
In that vein, kudos to the developer of the driveable Transit Van that has now popped up without any recourse to the poll…
Totally agree. It’s becoming an unsightly nuisance now.
In a word: Screenshots. They are advertising through people screenshotting their liveries while flying.
Personally, I can empathise with this. If I decided to buy a livery for an airline because I wanted a it to be realistic, I would want it exactly as it is in real life. I wouldn’t want anthing else on it.
Somebody who purchases the same livery as you can see your plane’s livery, can they not?
I can only agree with that. It is a disgrace to see such Sofly/VA System spam on the marketplace.
Not only are there 8 mods for an airport with a total of over 80 USD, such an installation also consists to a large extent of one and the same sound file. An example: 950MB total, 267MB static images with VA system advertising and 490 MB for over 100 times the identical sound file. So only about a quarter of the needed space is for the flight plans and the livery, which is of course the same in all 8 packages and is therefore available 8 times on the disk. So they not only spam the marketplace and hide high-quality add-ons, but also spam the SSD of the users, especially on the Xbox with limited space.
It also has no value. They are more or less simple flight plans that have been automatically created from the navigation data. Anyone who knows how to use Little Navmap can create such a plan themselves in 10 seconds. For liveries, there are better alternatives on the marketplace that come without advertising.
The good thing is, it’s not a new marketplace entrant taking space away from better studios like Mamudesign or OBY1 Flight Simulator Adventures, VA System is Sofly. Why they are not releasing this under their original name is unknown to me, but I guess they don’t want to tarnish their better name. But either way, Sofly and VA System are both on my list of vendors I will never buy from again.
VA should do what UKScenery do (or at least as I understand they do). UKScenery dlc requires that you download the free ukscenery library file. As I understand it this allows their dlc to use the common files in the library download in order to prevent such spamming of identical content on our drives.
10 bucks says Brazil/SA WU for July…
Well this weeks update brought some, well, good updates…
Completely agree.
At the very least, we need the ability to permanently show/hide specific manufacturer’s in the Marketplace to control this excessive product spamming on our end.
Microsoft needs to consider the fact that scanning across lists of these “products” will inevitably lead to people missing a new entry that they would have actually purchased so that’s money lost for MS.
Well at least I’m not the only one getting ****** off with this VA Systems rubbish spamming the Marketplace. It’s really annoying, seeing 31 new releases then realising the majority of them are complete trash. And also knowing that each week will likely be the same henceforth.
Interesting that we’re getting four aircraft in the next couple months. Presumably inibuilds, Carenado, Aeroplane Heaven, and a Bluemesh one, based on history and known contracts.
I wouldn’t be surprised if VA systems is MScenery or whatever that is. $4.99X100 for what is basically freeware.
They’re SoFly, apparently.
