As a customer of the premium deluxe edition I’m very surprised some of the aircraft in this edition are bugged and never received a proper update.
Can we get a word from the team about when can we expect fixes or improvements?
For example:
C-17 Globemaster: The devs at Miltech say the update has been ready for quite some time but Microsoft is not pushing it. Is the team ware of the invisible nose gear pin you have to remove or you won’t be able to raise the landing gear? Is this not enough for a hotfix? Why?
H225: Never got an update, the upper modes never work, the devs (HPG) act as it this product never existed and the last thing we knew was that there were communication problems. Are relations broken?
747 Dreamlifter: Needs an update, several problems since launch with LOD and systems.
PC24: It has improved but still has several problems like thinking it will stall at 110kts and other problems.
Saab 340: This needed a lot of work but didn’t see any updates in the last SUs. Why?
There are the most premium products in the sim, yet they are the most neglected batch of planes. Why?
Hope we can get some words about these aircaft soon.
Thanks!
“… we are now accepting questions for our next Developer Livestream scheduled for July 23, 2025 . If you’d like to pre-submit a question to the panel, you can do so at this link…”
Seeing as they completely and utterly ignored my question/thread, I back what @SmotheryVase665 said about submitting the question for the Q&A. They sure aren’t going to answer you here…
I already submitted 3 a few days ago so I don’t have any left. I don’t think any of us can answer that about why server side isn’t being attended to. I can only assume their attention is on SU3 and all else is being ignored. Sim stability is a huge problem. They just do not seem to be able to find the issues that are causing it particularly with 3rd party add-ons and SDK stability issues.
I feel you,
Aviator Edition here. Since release, I’ve checked every plane because I expected bugs at first. Almost every plane had issues, things that just weren’t finished. I worked hard to provide as much feedback as possible on various planes, only to find that the same bugs were still present years after release.
This is sad. Nothing has been changed or improved. We all paid the price. Don’t get me wrong, though. I love Flight Simulator, have owned every version, and it even helped me get my pilot’s license. Fortunately, we have good third-party developers who make decent planes.
But one thing is certain: I won’t be fooled again; I’ve learned my lesson.
Indeed. So many aircraft in 24 need some attention. From major faults and flight model errors right through minor bugs and down to the fact that several (eg. C-17 and A400M) have desperately quiet engine sounds (even with headphone sim off), there is lots of work to be done.
Well, that and compounded a bunch of us who made them (the FF and LL) aren’t working for those dev studios any more lol - I mean I am sure they can figure them out but it’s always harder than when the guys who made them are there. I think Jorg even eluded to that in one of the live streams
I am sure they will look at them eventually, maybe
As far as I knew it was just for the xbox sections of certain gaming divisions. MSFS has not been affected as far as I know. Microsoft is HUGE, it will never run out of money - it might decide not to fund something because it is a loss leader but currently this is not the case for MSFS 2024. There is far too much money to be made in the Marketplace for MS.
Microsoft and Microsoft Corporation are the same entity. “Microsoft Corporation” is the full, legal name of the company, while “Microsoft” is the commonly used shortened name and brand.
Microsoft has partnered with and supported Asobo Studio, particularly on projects like Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Yeah, Microsoft only made an $88.4 billion profit in 2024. I’m sure the doors are locking soon.
(However, maybe the false perception of a financial crisis that is being created by the company laying off senior employees right and left in order to inflate stock prices will get strong enough to make the company stop doing that? Nah.)
I was just happy that there hasn’t been public news of the MSFS team being gutted like Turn 10 and other MS studios.
But none of this is about having money. It’s all about bottom-line and political financial allocations within one of the world’s richest companies. Praise be to Jorg for his ability to promote the sim internally, and keep buying those Marketplace planes while continuing to encourage them to make that storefront work better.
Well, there you have a total lack of understanding of how things work. Microsoft is the publisher, owner, and caretaker of Flight Simulator. MSFT (stock currently $506/share), not some “MS/Asobo” spinoff. Asobo is merely a second-party contractor hired by Microsoft to do the lion’s share of development on the sim. They do not own or control the product, they’re just a company hired by MS to build a Microsoft product.
If MSFS doesn’t generate enough revenue for the suits to continue to invest in it at some point, that’s down to its performance as a product, and nothing to do with how much money Microsoft as a corporation is making overall. Windows and Azure are keeping the lights on, despite the company shedding employees like a Mainecoon cat sheds fur in the summertime.
If I could do it again I would not have bought deluxe edition. Most (is not all) these planes are broken in one way or another. I never fly them. Too frustrating
