Actually, this is at least indicating that they are working on it. Whatever shape and color the clouds take will never look exactly like in the real world and we will have to use some imagination to fully immerse. It will be fine, I am sure. It worked with the sugar cubes in FS98.
it’s on Xbox series X, no graphical option
Cumulus down to ground level again, instead of just rain… very rare to get actual fog in my area but this happens pretty much any time there’s heavy rain forecast, which is not rare. Was hoping there’d be progress on that, because that’s one of the most disruptive weather problems ( for obvious reasons ).
Yes, as i said, nothing much changed with su12, pre su7 weather is miles away…if it will ever be back
I’m with him. And I believe that lots of people who experienced the sim before SU7 will say the same.
if you are referring to this topic https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/excellent-live-weather-in-su12/581538/95 and just copiyng the words of that moderator, you’ll find that the small few it’s you since that post has only 13 votes against 228 of this one plus the many other complaints about the weather in this section of the forum…
Now with the advent of “amphetamine-free wind turbulence” in SU12 at last, this one goes up to the top of the list as the single greatest* problem in the sim.
*Yes, there are other issues that are also pretty important, but most of them can be modded away or circomvented somehow. Weather cannot, so that monkey is entirely on Asobo’s back.
We eagerly await in hopes that SU13 should be all about the weather.
Made me genuinely chuckle lol!
TBH a lot of the turbulence problems have been in aircraft setup ( if you take the artificial stability out of a CfD aircraft it’s often more stable in turbulence - the artifical stability tries to keep it pointing in the same direction relative to wind, and if that changes rapidly… ), although not the low level thermals & the very odd effects of trees. Also not for very light aircraft. Live weather here is really stormy ( and thus foggy :S ) so not much use for testing the changes to low level thermals, is anything noticeably different there?
Still getting abrupt changes too, although maybe there’s some settling down to be done in the backend if there was a change yesterday.
Thats interesting. WIll test that Why add artificial stabilty to begin with? Is that some kind of assistance? That we should be able to toggle in assistance menu right?
I guess it’s meant to make it easier to fly for people with bad controls. I gave a modified aircraft to a joypad user & they loved it, though. I’ve noticed devs reducing it in recent aircraft.
It’s not assistance, it’s inherent in the FM, and while I don’t ( deliberately! ) know much about the old non-CfM model it looks fairly tied into everything else there.
What is this meant to be. I assume rain, because ground to sky cloud in lumps doesn’t happen in SE UK much. It’s absolutely wrecking flights. This is live weather as of time of posting, barring me turning the sun back on.
Yeah, was hyped for the changes but unfortunately see no great return to pre-SU7 skies.
I do hope they sort this out. The clouds were a triumph in the early builds.
They can be very good on the odd flight now. Pre-SU7, they were good on every flight🥲
You should pist here https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/excellent-live-weather-in-su12/581538?u=sealedvolcano50 and stay on topic in this post! The issue is not resolved yet so i don’t see why you feel the need to say how stunning it is in this post. You are off topic…
Haha, so nobody can post that the topic is making progress? Sounds like people just want to complain.
Well i got 3 sudden switches in some minutes
First it looked like this:
Then a small switch appeard to this.
Then a big switch to this:
Notice the change of METAR.
Yesterday i thought those switches were gone but now suddenly they are back again.
I thought we had the seamless weather back again. I agree the first two sreenshots of weather looks fine but not the last. I think the last is what we are hoping them to fix and also those sudden changes in weather.
" * Fixed a cloud popping issue when updating Live Weather data "
Safe to say it’s definitely not fixed.
I confirm: I also encounter sudden cloud changes.
