Microsoft Boat Simulator

I see marketplace now has boats.. wondering if anyone has tried the new Sea Ray out yet

Do we have to just click a point on the map to launch from with these? As I don’t see my truck and trailer waiting at the airport anywhere :joy:

Certainly adds yet another dimension to the game if you fancy a change from flight I guess..

Just not sure how well marinas etc will behave to boats mooring up to jettis? Maybe there’s going to be hand crafted marina add ons coming?

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on this one :+1:

I want to know if we can para-drop it from a C-130.

We demand study level truck & trailer to launch these boats.

Long checklist to start from cold & dark.

To be honest, I’m more interested in whether the on board diving gear is properly and accurately simulated. This should be the bare minimum requirement in any flight simulator!

By the same token, I do find the submerged divers and submarines quite realistic from altitude.

Hello,
Strange as it may sound, discussion about the third-party boat goes in the Third Party > Aircraft section. :speedboat:

I’ve moved your thread there.

Oh, the thread just gets more amusing!

Personally, I’m all for this, as I love boats in real life. I don’t think that the scenery up-close is quite ready for this kind of stuff (though the same could be said for helicopters), but in general, I’m all for it. Same as I will be for the first time I have to put a drivable train in the Aircraft section, too.

I’m also curious to know about the Sea Ray, too, and what other people think about it. I might buy it some day. I’m also curious to know what these boats would look like to other people who don’t own it.

Yeah that’s the issue, with morphing cliffs all over etc gonna be some nasty screen shots incoming of scenery, but the idea using msfs world to explore is good.

Needs more realistic water though really and more unique wave behaviour.

And… Water skis :joy:

OK, after speaking with @BenMapp, I’m moving this back into General Discussion.
Sorry for all the moves!

The idea of sim ships does make me wonder if MSFS could be a next generation of this…

Actually, regarding scenery at close distance, something interesting was said a few months ago in this video from @Spac3Rat (24:25):

The way I interpret that is, “We know we need to get scenery looking better from closer-up.” So this is something I would expect in the coming years.

My pet theory is that MSFS is the launching pad of Microsoft’s answer to Facebook’s Metaverse. I’m only half kidding.
