Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

Oh, really? Didn’t know that.

It’s not the same and also not stable because the hardware is not the same as on the 4070 series. Most of the time there are stutters and ghosting.

Sorry to say but this latest patch has killed my sim. Mainthread and GPU getting murdered. Sim used to run 120fps smooth :frowning:

Yeah, that dot is unsettling- kinda liked the extra knowledge of where I am headed!

Ok it was just default WSSS was killing my sim as soon as I flew out it smoothed right out…

I’m personally loving MSFS2024.

I only flying the Airbuses for now, Fenix and IniBuilds and having a blast with them.

I have the sim at 1440p with all ULTRA and like never before, I’m able to fly from/to premium scenereis like JFK, LAX, Heathrow, Frankfurt etc. without hiccups, butter smooth at around 35-40fps, FSLTL, GSX etc. all on!

Loading time is at max 5 minutes too.

I’ve heard much the same, but I’ve abused by SSD’s for years and only one has failed… And it was one of the very first. It failed after about 10 yrs. Won’t blame you for being careful if you have a big drive though

Well its doin’ it … I did extremely well on 2020 with many Ultra settings when I went from 1080 to 4K (using DLSS) and low TLOD …

Yes, its the DLSS>FSR mod and it does very well …

I had that on 2020 but much less and smoother on 2024 …

Sometimes i get to fly missions. Not a fan of the points thing. I’d rather burn up trying to put a fire out than grinding to make enough money to do it & then ctds. Cargo grinding can be lucrative. Was able to do a couple rescues. Neoflyesk. Fun if there is a place to land a plane. Haven’t tried helicopters. I don’t know how to fly a helicopter inrl. Lots of people seem to have different results/outcomes. Turbulence please. Buildings & huge trees in front of runways really jack with the wind on landings. Which I think is cool the wind models are working but it’s too extreme. Few flights are completed. CTD. Fun when a flight is actually finished. I like what I see when a lot of things work. I’m on level 93 I think. There has not been a single flight out of those 93 levels that everything worked. I’m trying to be on your side Asobo. I’ve purchased every iteration of msfs since 1996. I am certainly ■■■■■■ you released a nowhere near finished product but ranting is easy… I don’t remember seeing ads on tv for msfs in the past. I did this time. Terrible release. I paid twice what I’ve ever paid before because of the hype. Looking forward to when you guys get this thing working. Massive software program. Still no excuse for releasing a nowhere near finished product.

I agree when everything lines up and the sim seemingly works as it should it’s actually incredible, the lighting and weather is better than 2020, the plane models (when they’re not minecraft coded) look awesome, but once they get it on par or better than 2020 I’m definitely making the full time leap into 2024, but until then I’ll dip into 2024 to see if I can have a decent experience, if not I’ll swap back onto 2020 to get my fix. But as you said when everything “works” it’s bloody incredible lol

PC, both LOD Settings at 200.

In each VIP charter mission, the game crashes takes off immediately after the echelon reaches altitude. Always! Absolutely in all charter missions! As soon as the height of the echelon is reached! 3999/4000… and the game crashes.

In the end, after weeks of testing the product, reading the forums and the bad experience that we are all having, in one way or another, with the simulator, we can draw the following conclusions.

We have found a product that is clearly below the expectations that had been announced to us. A spectacular trailer, which left us all speechless, but which is just a cinematic video, which has little to do with what we can currently see in the simulator.

The amount of bugs that the simulator contains is unworthy of any launch. Some of them are so ridiculous that they show that the simulator has barely been tested by real beta testers in the Asobo offices before its release.

It is us, the players, who are trying and testing every aspect of the simulator, and at the cost of our money.

I don’t know if it has been overconfidence on the part of the developers or if we are simply faced with an excessively revolutionary product for current technology, which has surpassed the capacity of the developers.

I don’t doubt that at some point, with effort and perseverance, they will achieve what was expected and promised, but right now (and I think in the short term) it seems like an impossible task.

In my opinion, it would have been more honest (something that Microsoft always says it wants to be with the community) to tell the truth about the state of development of the product and to have delayed the launch as long as necessary once the product was more finished.

In the meantime, MSFS2020 could have continued to be developed a little more, which was already at a great level and we were all enjoying it a lot.

But in the end, this is a business and I suppose there are signed contracts, contractual clauses, expected delivery dates that must be met (under penalty of sanctions) and above all, money to be made. No money, no fun. It’s the harsh reality.

Sorry for my English if some sentences are not correctly constructed (the translator’s fault)

Anyone else notice the moon is very very small now?

Yes, the moon is very small and looks odd. Needs fixed.

Since the latest patch, the sim loading time has nearly doubled and the intro video that plays while the sim loads is a stuttering mess. I keep waiting for the load time to go back to what it was but it isn’t happening. I don’t know what happened to cause this but I sure hope this gets straightened out with the next update, whenever that is. Also, my control scheme is changed to keyboard instead of my controller each time I start the sim. I know this is going to happen now and I fix it before starting a flight, but I hope this gets sorted with the next update as well. Growing pains…

It’s stutters all over the place since this latest patch. Default airports, third party airports, helicopters, airliners, it’s stutter stutter stutter.

Something was screwed up in this patch. It’s a prayer without end.

Yup - being discussed here:

See:

If by short term, you mean 12-18 months then yes I agree with you. At least 12-18 months before it’s even close to acceptable.
