That is incredibly impressive, given the vast majority of users on here have a difficult time running anything above 1440p. I suspect the Xbox will Indeed become lead platform, as the fanbase expands.
Sunday could be interesting.

So it will be Sunday when the trailer launches interesting
Running in 4K is one thing, but what about running in 4K Ultra settings? Maybe that’s why there’s been so much lower visual quality in recent updates?
I wonder if the optimization size update they did recently was to help make room for the console installation down the road
I’m pretty sure microsoft has common sense. They won’t release something that can’t run well on their system, unless they want to get hate from the community.
running at ultra, or just taxing at EGLL or KJFK in an airliner
Question is, what are the compromises to make it run in 4k and what is the target framerate? Its not like it doesnt run in 4k at pc at ultra settings…
Stop worrying about this.
The XBox will likely just get 2 or 3 settings profiles to choose from (like 4K / 30FPS and 2K / 60FPS). Doubt it’ll get all the sliders we get to play with on PC. There’s no reason at all for the XBox release to have a (bad) impact on the PC Version.
It’s actually the other way around; most of the optimizations they found while working on the XBox version will benefit the PC version as well.
We know they play fast and loose with “in game” footage and pics with water masks and draw distance. I’d take anything they show with a mine of salt.
Usually 2 settings, 4k, probably at 30FPS and a performance mode. Perf mode might be dynamic resolution as usual.on consoles.
Just remember that 7 months ago (december) they released a trailer which already show it running 4k on the series x and by the looks I could say it was at least on high, if not better.
Indeed. In one of the more recent Q&A’s it was suggested in some cases it is running beyond Ultra and better in other areas. Really impressive stuff - suspect Flight Sim is about to find a new home on Xbox. ![]()
We should really expect it to be 4k ultra or mighty close to it. We are talking a console here with RDNA 2 graphics and Zen 3 processing. It’s like a high end PC but it’s a console, so it doesn’t have the overhead of windows and can be optimised specifically for a single piece of target hardware.
Right now the Xbox Series X is miles ahead of the PC in regards to price per performance. Because of the GPU shortages we can’t even buy a GPU for PC, that is as good as the one in the XBox series X, without paying more than the entire Xbox Series X costs.
It’s also just two configurations with highly controlled drivers so they know exactly what they have to play with.
Essentially pc’s have infinite combinations and not all of them work well together.
Last year, pre-launch on PC, we were told that there would be “three compatibility modes for PC”. That leaves only one mode for Xbox - Ultra. Everything. Everywhere. At All Times.
That’s because MS sell the XBOX at a loss on the hardware to get it in the hands of consumers. They make their money on licensing and their services vs the hardware sales.
But you’re quite right. It’s really hard to argue the bang for the buck factor of going XBOX. It may not be for everyone, but that doesn’t make it a bad option at all. It’s a pretty powerful box for not a whole lot of money when compared to a comparably equipped PC. At least for now.
They’re working on it:
I really can’t trust anyone pushing for Xbox
If it had not been for the lack of use add-ons and the poor support of controllers, I would undoubtedly have opted for an X-Box X
Can we assume this is a “spit your coffee” statement? When has MS ever had common sense? Common sense would have included the ability in FS 2020 to work with multi-view/multi-monitor systems right out of the gate.
It’s not like any console manufacturer has ever demoed software on a PC and called it a console…
