Milk runs

Thanks to this post about Alaska Milk Run:

… I’ve been searching more info about this kind of flights. And I’ve discovered this fantastic article where not only explain what are these flights but also gives several examples:

For example:
Fly Coralway connecting several Pacific Islands:

For DC3, DC3 Airways is an exceptional source.

For Feeders Caravan lovers, you can always check Empire Airliners map and select one of their cargo runs over the beautiful Oregon:

I hope it helps you to find interesting routes for your xmas flights.

And please, if you know other milky runs, please share!

Regards

Great article! It covers all the milk runs in the world that I’m aware of. Two of my avgeek friends flew on the Island Hopper with me several years ago in real life. One of those friends (not a simmer) bought MSFS specifically so he could fly the route in the sim!

I’ll try the UAL pacific Milk Run when the PMDG 777 is out

I wouldn’t have thought much about it, but Russia’s got some great stuff east of the Urals - milk runs with Twin Otters, An-2s, 26s and Mi-8s, although MSFS coverage isn’t great there.

Might be worth looking it in the future when the situation is different ( and we have the An-2 and An-26 in game )

Poletme has some great videos on it - just need to dig for the retro and bush routes.

Just a heads up that the UAL Island Hopper is done in real life on 737s. So you don’t have to wait if you don’t want to.

I read someplace they were using 777s?
737s would make more sense, though.

( ok - two different articles - one was misstated… the non-stop to Guam is a 777, the milk run is a 737. The 2nd article just said 777 for the whole route )
