They’ve announced that the 40th anniversary update in November will get “twenty missions from the franchise’s past”, so that sounds very promising

Hopefully some passenger flights on World Travel airlines will be included 
They never brought back my airline I always flew for in fsx which was American Pacific

That was a welcome news! I still find it strange someone does not work on proper missions, perhaps if no one does it… opportunity there 
Not a single one out there is a proper mission, the one available are merely bush trip (and they even charge you for that LOL), the HAWAII has text to speech woice and is probably the best, but again it is not a mission “FSX Style”, I could personally not find one.

No surprise really considering the current limitations of the SDK … However I’m sure it will come.

There are some really good ones out there actually. They have been faithfully ported and are fun to experience!
Can you give me some names? I could not find any.
I am all up for flight model being better rather than missions eh…but it is also nice when one can combine the two.

I’ve just had a look again now… sorry they must have removed a lot of them!
I think 1) they’re either wanting FS 2020 to have them only and 2) copyright / audio violations.
Lets see what happens in the future… but the Whiteout mission is still there.

ahhh yes peeps saw those ones, but they are not new they are from FSX
These will come down the net with next update for the anniversary, all of them.
Even though I spent lots of time and effort on my several “ports” if you can call them that, I am ecstatic to hear that they are planning to officially bring them into the new sim. I hope they do not disappoint! I am also excited about the new mission creation possibilities that will hopefully come with the introduction of the old legacy missions. Perhaps the community will jump at the chance to let their creativity loose and create new and exciting scenarios to fly.

I am remodelling all my fields from Xplane to MSFS I still call them ports even though not even a single asset is used just because they “existed”.
I think is amazing that you anticipate it and, to be honest, it would not surprise me if that is what prompted them to do it themselves.
I am totally ignorant on the SDK for mission so not sure what can or can’t be done compared with whoever was accustomed with FSX SDK, so kudos!

Asobo/Microsoft don’t seem to plan missions for the MS.
In this interview https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/nAN1wpMu0Ro Jorg says (from 11:45) that missions are not needed. I disagree, I think missions would be a great additional option.

That interview is from more than a year ago. It has been officially confirmed that the 40th anniversary edition will bring back 20 missions from the past.
