Msfs 2020 will not shut down fully

I wasnt aware of streaming issues in 2020

Any chance of an update on this ?

Indeed the ticket is mixed up meanwhile but I have the problem with MSFS 2020.

Same problem here after last MSFS update.

Apparently a known and reported issue with 2020.

MS2020 / WIN11
→ Delete XBOX and “Gaming Services”
→ Reinstall XBOX via MS Store
Problem immediately solved.

Same. Seemed to be fixed for a while but it’s back - hangs permanently when I click Quit to Desktop.

Hangs for me in FS2020. I have to force close it using Task Manager. I just installed the update.

I just got it with MSFS2020 as well, so not necessarily specific to MSFS2024.

Having the same problem in version 2020!

Same rate here. Latest nvdia drivers installed, but idw if that changed anything.

Don’t think so. I did not update the drivers until yesterday/day before and had the exit hang before that.

This .13 build is mostly better – except for this hang on desktop and the pesky issue of the Fenix A320 randomly disappearing from the aircraft selection screen. Both issues seem to be widespread so maybe they get fixed in this flighting.

Ignore my previous posts on here; I mistakenly thought the thread was about FS2020 (that’ll teach me not to skim).

However, 2020 has just received an update, and now the bug is affecting that too.

My 2020 version crashes when exiting to the desktop too. FsNav update yesterday. Tried running as administrator, lower quality, empty comunity folder…no success.

I can confirm that I’m affected as well - MSFS 2020 (1.38.2.0) hangs on quitting to desktop, possibly after the latest navdata update(?)

Yes. It hangs on shutdown in my 2020 installation, and it started doing it after the latest NavData update.

Same problem here. Only started yesterday after mandatory update.

Same problem here using FS2020. Began right after the latest nav update. Hope someone from Asobo is working on this newly introduced bug.

Same here with MSFS2020 and while still hanging it uses high CPU, like it is looping through a shutdown sequence.

For a quick way to end MSFS when it freezes, have a look at the option to add a taskbar shortcut to save some time:

Windows Pro-Tip: Enable shortcut setting to quickly close MSFS (or other apps) quickly!
