MSFS 2024 not recognised by AMD Radeon or Adrenalin Graphics

I cannot control any graphical settings for MSFS 2024 in AMD Adrenalin software. The game does not appear in the list of Games/Applications or after scanning for games.

There is a way to select the application from the directory but it requires permissions that seemingly 2024 will not give over like 2020 did.

EDIT: Incase some have overlooked the tags, this is the MS-Store version.

Following this guide: Take ownership of the Windows Apps folders I attempted to change permissions in order to select 2024 directly but it will not allow it. No matter what I do I get the message: “Failed to enumerate objects in the container.” I tried the same method on other folders and they work fine. It’s as if they’ve done something to protect 2024 from being taken control of by the user, but maybe I’m missing something.

I have also followed guide on fixing the “Failed to enumerate objects in the container” error but to no avail. I’ve never had this issue til now.

I have the same problem. And furthermore I am not able to lock a specific FPS such as 30 or 35. Only the percentage setting of the displays refresh rate seems to work.

I’ve noticed this also and it’s the same for other games I’ve played via gamepass. What you have to do is go into the Adrenalin driver I/F and select Gaming->Graphics and then set the parameters you want. Unfortunately, this will set the parameters as global for any games that do not have a specific profile.

What you need to do is follow my instructions above and set Radeon Chill for the fps you want on both sliders. You can also turn on AFMF2 to double your frame rate if you’re into that. Make sure you turn off the V-sync settings in the sim.

EDIT: Just did the Radeon Chill/AFMF2 changes on MSFS 2024 and they would not actually turn on while the sim runs! Adrenalin says they are on in the interface but no-go in the sim. Verified this works fine with MSFS 2020 so not sure why these parameters are ignored while MSFS 2024 is running!

I’ve tried to set the executable in adrenaline and it wont allow me to by saying I do not have permission. I do not think AFMF 2 will work if it doesnt register the game. My global control panel is not giving me any data while the game runs. Perhaps they need to update the drivers to allow MSFS2024? Would really like to utilize AFMF2 with MS2024

i’ve the same problem… i tried to create a shortcut, but it doesn’t work ingame. it’s so stupid because it work with FS2020. i can’t use AFMF.

I’ve have the same problem. I hope the next AMD drivers will fix it, because I have Forza Motorsport on the Xbox App and I can see it in the AMD panel

I think this absence is some more evidence that the game wasn’t quite done when they released it and they knew so. As far as i’m aware new large games get graphics driver support patches prepared before or immediately after release, since the developers work with Nvidia/AMD/Intel while developing the game. Very odd.

Same Problem over here and FSR3 isn´t in the Game too. It´s a shame!

Same problem with MS store version. Work great with Steam version…

same problem

Why not wait a week or so for amd monthly update. They usually drop in the first week of the month. Not so odd, but all the suspicion and theories make for funny reading.

I hope you’re right, but must say being unable to change your pc-side settings because a game isn’t recognised at all by your graphics drivers isn’t normal, especially for a “AAA” title.

I have it…

How did you do it?

Try using driver version 23.12.1, I was using the latest but I had to change to this version because it’s better in VR HEVC-10Bit(using Virtual Desktop). But I think I had MSFS2024 there even with the latest driver…

Steam version is ok but not MS store. I tried with older drivers and beta… Some Nvidia users have the same issue with MS store.

Right, I’m using steam.

+1 on PCGP install.

This bug seems to only apply to the MS Store version, which is why you are able to get it working.

Can add me to the list of those affected as well, MS Store (Gamepass) version.
