MSFS 2024 only positive comments!

Since yesterday’s patch I can now fly and I’m actually loving it (yes ignoring the bugs). I actually have a smile on my face now flying instead of banging my desk trying to understand why the constant CTD’s

Now it’s time to work on my career and go to places that I would not normally fly

My performance today was stellar in the Vision J. Solid 60fps 4k at PHNL with 0 hicups. Smooth as silk and my best 2024 sim performance so far. Locked 60fps steady, 78003d CPU hovering around 40 to 45%, 4070super GPU at 70%, Vram 60%, 32gb Ram @ 65%. I’ve made no sim changes other than upping the RC to 128gb and disabling live traffic. Tired of the popup. I got the reported Windows 11 update today as well. It caused a CTD during install, my first ever. I powered down cold and restarted, went back to the update and it showed installed. PC seemed normal, so I started the sim, and my my, 2024 performance slick as an oil well, up, down, and all around. Something clicked somewhere, somehow, lol. Be nice to have them addons from Marketplace. Kinda like sim salt and pepper for me. My performance seems to be improving lots. Hope it holds. Happy flying all

I have struggled greatly with issues/bugs and frustrations, that it is vitally important to acknowledge the positive experiences I have in 2024.

I’ve been flying the Beaver over one of my favorite places on Earth – the Mojave Desert in California. I know this place intimately, as I travel for extended periods here in my 4WD overlanding camper. 2024 has brought so much more depth to the vastness of this biome. The improvements to ground detail bring with it so much more richness to the landscape. It simply looks amazing.

As the fall-into-winter sun gets ever lower in the sky, the lighting on the hills looks incredible from 4500’.

I have the TLOD up to 400 and the performance of the sim has been excellent.

Much like I do in real life, I like to make a mental marker when things are just right and good.

There is so much potential here.

2024 has easily the most beautiful skies I have ever seen on a game/simulation. The flight model feels amazing. A very generous amount of new planes even in Standard, most of which deliver.

Honestly, despite the releasing day and other minor issues, there’s not much to complain, at least in my experience, right now. Most of the missing stuff doesn’t really bothers me, once the Store always served me for free content only, and I’m really enjoying those challenges of career mode.

I’m still struggling on keeping my custom controls as main controls, but this is not properly something to be complaining about.

Sometimes the little things can make me happy: Moving around the drone camera I no longer have to correct the horizon every few minutes like I had to in MSFS 2020.

On console, there is really nothing to be positive about MSFS 2024. It’s in a really bad shape. But yes, since this post is about being positive, the greatest things about this sim are:

  • The career mode
  • Better lighting
  • Feels more alive and active with crew/passengers
  • More passenger planes available as standard.

Can’t stop laughing at this. I don’t have that problem, in the last couple of days don’t know why -and frankly don’t care anymore- it’s closing by itself so it’s saving me the task of using alt-f4.

On a good thing… night lighting is vastly improved, vastly improved, and textures, specially runway tarmac textures, are way better. Same for the small grass in unprepared runways.

If only it would work…
