MSFS is not longer a fun and relaxing game

Asobo should’ve only made the clouds, the rest of the sim should’ve been made by another experienced company

Thank goodness Asobo don’t make real aircraft.

  • Airliner nosedives inexplicably into the East China Sea

  • Black Box recovered

“What is it telling us?”
“—Dunno, I pushed the button and it said “Inop.”

  • Airliner nosedives inexplicably into the East China Sea

“What is it telling us?”

It just said “Thank you for flying Boeing 737 Max”

Heh.

“Have a nice day!”

It works great for me. I use one monitor for my sectionals and flight plans, and the other to fly. It makes really learning the ins and outs of navigation fun. and the scenary is beautiful. I’m loving it.

It is actually kinda impressive how you can turn a game that was essentially the new “can it run crysis?”, a true generetional leap in PC gaming to a broken and blurry mess just within a month. Hope theres a documentary one day.

Yeah that would be good viewing. Maybe not worth £120 but still…

Pretty much what I do. MSFS on my 4K monitor and SimToolKitPro on my other monitor with map, charts etc. Really enjoying the game. Most issues can be steered away from and I’m having the most enjoyment in a flying game of any kind since I first played Elite Dangerous.

I have three monitors but have switched from NVIDIA surround stretched view to a single monitor now for the sim until I upgrade my CPU. Might experiment with keeping other maps etc on another monitor if this works for you.

Interesting you mentioned ED. I crowd funded ED and so receive all new iterations for free.

That game was flawless on release and subsequent patches only improved and broadened the offering.

Quite remarkable how much MFS is NOT in the same city, let alone ball park.

Another flawless patch install. Another day of enjoyment…

I think some are overall too fussy. They get a an idea of perfection and will always concentrate on the negatives

I’m a glass half full man myself and as a result I’m relaxed and loving everything this great sim is providing me…

Very happy…have a great day.

Asobo, is that you?

The subscription model was exactly appropriate for what we were getting into - a first release of a new platform that would probably take forever to perfect.

They gave us that option up front: Get into while only risking like ten dollars or less. They gave us an out, or an escape from dropping huge cash on it, if you will.

What did everyone do? Got hyped and dropped huge cash for their own copy of it, the equivalent of signing up for the service for a year or even longer, to get one title.

So true. Whilst the money isn’t a critical issue for me, with hindsight I would have done what you suggest. There has been zero advantage to shelling out up front.

More of us would’ve chosen that option if we’d known we were going from really good, but imperfect, to “why does this look and operate worse with each ‘upgrade’?”

You’ll never break me

Yes, i agreed it is not longer relaxing. Once I start a flight I am already thinking what will happen next i.e autopilot won’t work, game will crash something will go wrong. It is very frustrating seeing new bugs after updates! Is like if the programmers cannot see the big picture, it seems they are struggling to understand how parameters interact with each other :see_no_evil_monkey:

All that think it is OK to launch a game or sim that crashes constantly and core functionality is a train wreck, and you feel the need to condescendingly school us on how you have been simming for decades and that is the norm…

If that is true, then you probably remember the Microprose release of Falcon 4.0 which was released in such sad shape it literally destroyed the entire company.

Yes, modern software development follows frameworks and principles that are supposed to make software delivery a continuous thing with frequent small releases as opposed to old school monolithic releases every 2-3 years.

None of these paradigms says it is OK to introduce regressions, release without core features working, etc.

TOTAL Train wreck (or should that be Plane Crash)

Update #2 messed it up
Update #3 totally destroyed it

Whats the good of a Flight Simulator when all it does is display “pretty graphics”, but the planes don’t fly, and are highly unstable,

Wasted over 4 days with this rubbish, and enough is enough.

Out of here till at least Christmas,

Good luck to those remaining .. Enjoy the Roller Coaster .. It has made me puke 1 too many times now…

22c changing frequency.. Good day.

Another soldier down. Its becoming a constant. =[

Maybe it’s time to take a break? Maybe fly one of the other sims around for a while? Come back when you’ve gotten some distance. It’s what I do. (That one combat sim has a fantastic P-47 Thunderbolt and the little I-16 is fun as hell for aerobatics. Also, you can communicate with other pilots in game. And when the bugs in it start to…ahem, bug…you, return to MSFS. )
