MSFS team apologizes for 2024 launch issues, outlines fixes, and offers 4 free aircraft

I realize there is much to do, but I wonder if someone could elaborate on this comment.
If there is a timeline…where will they appear?
Will they be announced?
Will they be in 3rd party aircraft uninstalled?

How will we know where to look?

Thank you.
PS: especially this one :slightly_smiling_face:

  1. No timeframe yet. They will be released throughout the next several months or a year with World Updates as local legends, if I remember correctly.
  2. Yes
  3. I don’t understand the question
  4. Read this forum, reddit or any other flight sim related website.

Actually, any info on the subject would be appreciated. I would pass it along in my Steam forum. Anything positive is always helpful for activity.

Hi folks,

As announced by Jorg in November’s Developer Livestream, the next four first-party aircraft (e.g. Local Legends, Famous Flyers, etc.) will be FREE to all players. The first two free aircraft have already been announced: the Cessna 185F and CAP-4 Paulistinha. The CAP-4 will launch alongside the next World Update in January or February. The next two free aircraft will be revealed at a future date.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Xbox WILL get them.

Is that through the Marketplace? It’s still closed.

I would naturally assume it’ll be up and running by the time the aircraft release.

Thanks. I will listen but no mention of VRAM in the write up, just the LOD:

LOD and texture streaming: Players experiencing blurry textures or popping details will benefit from optimizations in the rolling cache system and texture streaming pipeline.

Both of these are major structural problems and to save my mental health I have stopped fooling with the program. Maybe later in the year I will get a 5080. I currently have a 3070ti and the 8GB is not adequate given the VRAM issues… they do not clean it up and it continually flips over to computer RAM and SSD. We continue to be gaslit on this issue… I set my cache to 128GB.

PS This looks like the previous talk from Dec 2024.

we’re 3 weeks away from the 2 month mark since the last dev stream. the next one likely will be last week of Jan. thats a long time of silence from the top team. and no, holidays aren’t an excuse for 2 months. they can push out a formal statement, plan or short pre recorded video

won’t happen… this is the same ol’ story from MSFS 2020. 2024 won’t be a valid sim until end of this year and that’s being optimistic.

This is really nice of them but I just want career mode fixed, I want more of the standard edition planes in career mode. Free planes are awesome, I’m not arguing that but they do nothing to solve any issues.
