At this point I’d have expected Asobo to have monitoring in place, be already aware of this P1 issue and issuing public comms ASAP.

Usually what happens is it says “checking for updates”, then it presents a 0 byte update, once you click that your stuck on the default loading screen forever.
Some people however were able to keep trying and eventually get in.

Same here (mid-southeast, United States). The first couple times I tried to load (FS2020 by the way, NOT 2024), I got a no-error message CTD twice, late in the loading process. Third time I got stuck checking for updates. Did all the steps in the process (reset gaming services, ran the repair tool, rebooted PC, etc.). CTD again. Now stuck on Checking for Updates even after repairing gaming services.

Is the team aware? the sooner they are aware, the sooner they can fix it.
Good question - we’re not supposed to ping forum staff, but is there a way to alert the community managers generally? Posting a Zendesk ticket for a widespread issue like this clearly a waste of time.
Same here in Oklahoma. This morning tried a flight in MSFS 2020 from London to Boston. Got half-way then the red box saying connection issue and never reconnected. Lost Navigraph as well. My internet speed was great. Now trying to get in, was stuck at Checking for Updates. When it finally moved on it said no internet connection even though my internet was fine.
Same here. Flew 2020 last night OK, but this morning stuck at “checking updates”.
This is getting beyond a joke.
MSFS2020 was working great. Then we get a new simulator which ties us even more to the web (we don’t all have rocket speed internet connections).
I though, it’s ok, I’ll just stick with what I have (2020) and be happy, but no, I can’t be happy because ever since the launch of 2024, my old Sim doesn’t work anymore.

Point the installer at your existing file path, it should verify the content and move on without downloading anything.
