I’ve noticed the same issue with the Garmin 3000 on the Longitude, so it doesn’t seem specific to the Vision Jet. I just wanted to flag it because I know many users outside the US prefer to use kilograms (kg) as their unit of measurement.
To my knowledge, no one has reported this bug yet, which is why I think it’s important to highlight. This issue can cause significant problems for those who frequently adjust the settings on both the tablet and the aircraft, as it’s not immediately obvious what’s causing the crash.
I encourage everyone to keep an eye out for this behavior and report it if encountered—it won’t be addressed unless the team knows about it.
Thanks for bringing up the possibility of it being a Working Title issue. I’ll check if there’s already a logged bug for it!
Hey, @WarStalker2b. I too love the MSFS 2024 Vision Jet and have been spending a lot of time in it. Currently flying it cross country in the US and visiting many regional airports I wouldn’t otherwise see since I primarily fly tube liners. It is a magnificent machine.
Since you have experienced this, and the issue is repeatable whenever you setup the conditions, I suggest you create your own bug report. If there already is one, then add your vote and perhaps anything else you notice about the “bug” to that thread. I suggest you use the “Bug Reporting Hub > Miscellaneous” category to file the bug and add as much detail as you can about how to trigger it. If you can show it with screenshots, add them as well.
Thank you for your suggestion! I’ll work on creating a detailed bug report and post it in the Bug Reporting Hub > Miscellaneous category as soon as possible. I’ll make sure to include all the necessary details to help address the issue.
Do you guys change the vnav descend profile manually? At first I think I did something wrong but checking the different profiles it says 250 knots for descend, and I have to manually change it but it makes me google what is the mach speed for certain knots (this is by default, I think on my first flight one of my passengers had a heart attack on approach).
I don’t. And I’ve never had to worry about a mach overspeed in the VisionJet, it’s not that fast in my experience. Maybe the IRL VJ drivers have a better answer?
I just tried again this morning and it worked perfectly. I don’t know why but I was 100% doing something wrong before. I noticed now that Vnav had an alt speed limit on 230kt below 10.000 feet, I think the number was different before (I watched a video on the aircraft descend procedure that was done a month ago and the guy had like 245kt under 10k ft), but at 230 kts worked perfectly.
Now I gotta learn to battle atc telling me to climb when close to approach lol.
A trick you might try is to use FLC. This enables flight level change mode at your current speed. Then pull back your throttle slowly and let the aircraft pitch the nose down to maintain your current speed. Seems to work with most of the GA aircraft.
The aircraft doesn’t have most of the waypoints and procedures that EFB has. Especially for small airports. So that makes me unable to create a proper flight plan or send the flight plan data to avionics during the career missions. This makes me think that the navdata of this aircraft might be outdated.
