The thing I fear having used/experienced FS2020 (originally on XBox, now on PC) for 3 years now is that there have been things that have been broken and never fixed that are to do with gameplay/progress. For example-
- Bushtrips often broken, progress lost
- Training, progress lost (multiple times)
- Landing challenges progress lost (multiple times)
- Awards, don’t always pop, some have seen progress lost, now no ‘next level’ / blank
- Users progress suspended as we hit a file limit we knew nothing about (fixed eventually)
- Users progress being wiped (uninitiated as described in this thread)
- No backups available of user profile data
The one thing that hasn’t broken (thankfully) is the normal every day simming experience (doing your own flights etc). But with FS2024 being more game/career/goals centric and having more things to store & log progress, how much hope do we have that those issues listed above in FS2020 won’t come back and bite again in FS2024 which looks like it is going to rely on saving progress as a major feature in a say a career.
It’s a confidence thing really and I’m short on that re these issues going by my FS2020 experience. I have very little feeling of ‘goal completion’ (other than my own goals) in over 2K hrs in FS2020. So many of the current sims gameplay elements have largely failed IMO. Yet there looks like there will be far more gameplay elements in 2024.
