I’m starting to think you’re doing this on purpose. You’ve caused Seedy to clarify the objective of the career activities twice. It is simple reading comprehension.
They already have an in-house beta team, but the question remains whether they’ll open it up to the community like MSFS 2020 did. Hope to find out more at Flight Sim Expo 2024.
i dont know how to answer to that, dont read me if you don’t want to i guess, its fine by me
if you release a trailer thats all about missions, people are going to ask, hey, is this going to be all about missions?
a forum about the product in question seems like the right place
I get the impression addons will be compatible in most cases or can easily be made compatible, like some of the earlier SUs, devs may have to tweak things a little for best results in the new sim.
And of course some addons like seasons or careers might be made irrelevant or may require their devs to completely rebuild and restructure their addons to have any relevance in the new sim.
Some airports may require tweaking to fit new land data.
Some aircraft may need an update to take advantage of the newest SDK updates and upgrades.
It seems all but clear from what has been said that airplanes and airports for the most part will carry straight over or with minimal updates from the devs. And those are the bulk of the addons sold.
From a business perspective the Marketplace is easy money for MS and when 2020 dropped they really didn’t have anything to offer. Then Xbox was held up by the whole WASM thing keeping some of the best addons off the console for a ridiculously long time. Most people play a game when it is new. So having a working Marketplace FULL of working addons at LAUNCH has to be a big priority for MS this time around. They missed that window last time.
My guy, you doubled down after Seedy responded to you the first time. You completely ignored the lengthy post he put up and went on to tell people, “oh yeah the sim is getting more gamey!”
i most certainly did not ignore his post… i read it, watched the video, and answered him directly, i noticed however that one of the top developers says focus 1 will be activities, therefore, i still have my doubts, hence i express them here, which is, once again, the right place for that
you on the other hand seem to have a problem with that, if you do, then i say again, just dont read me
Maybe the tagline should change from:
“The Sky is Calling”
To
“The Sky is Falling”
There is still the memory of Microsoft Flight. I guess there is the nervousness that the game element can be taken too far. Only time will tell if the balance is right. As long as the core is still a free flight simulation I guess it will be fine.
You are stuck on activity and you keep repeating 3d trees are limited to activity. You never judge in video, if you read the expo and all details was much different, why even talk about flight dynamic and hiring Andrey (An.Petrovich) Solomykin one of the top guy on flight dynamic 2.5 years ago Lead engineer departs Great Battles team (updated) – Stormbirds there is much more then only activity.
i most certainly did not ignore his post… i read it, watched the video, and answered him directly, i noticed however that one of the top developers says focus 1 will be activities, therefore, i still have my doubts,
Ok and now read Seedy’s recent post above MSFS2024 November 19th, 2024 - #278 and perhaps that will help you clue in
In some scenes, but there’s a part with the skycrane (not a small heli) where the trees underneath aren’t moving.
No desktop sim is.
@NixonRedgrave I have to appreciate your sense of humor in these types of threads!
Looks like we are getting scripted missions like in fsx. Although this would be a good treat, it is not enough. We definitely need an endless career mode like in Ets2. If scs had given players only map and trucks, ets/ats would have died years ago
I am hoping missions and careers can be different paths. Missions are a classic MSFS staple. And I suspect much of the detailed animation we saw in the trailer was for these missions.
Definitely want more info.
It isn’t missions, it is a CAREER mode. They keep saying “Pursue your dream of a career in aviation” which means we’re getting something far bigger than the random missions FSX provided. Expect to actually have to build hours and get a bunch of certifications like you would have to in real life.
As it stands, either interpretation would be an assumption, as there is simply not enough information to go on.
I hope your interpretation is correct, but only time will tell.
Jorg confirmed in interviews last year that you have to start from scratch on each career path so there’s more evidence out there in favor of my assumption.
hello,
I hope Asobo will improve the runway lights and taxi ways (reflection, bloom..)
Hi,
Nevermind the points of attentionJorg has made in the past, they need to get the fundamental basics right. For example the current Sim still has basic UI bugs, basic mouse issues, a poorly designed settings/peripherals saving ability, poorly maintained marketplace etc etc. They need to get all that right alongside shiny new details, otherwise the Sim won’t progress as well as it could.
Thanks
