MSFS2024 - Server Connection is absolutely unstable

Thanks @Gullekelch! Will try out your workaround!

Tried it…not working. Still crashing the Heli. It’s sooo frustrating and also the loading times of missions/activities are so frustrating. Don’t know how long I can stand this…

So now I’m on the 8th day of not beeing able to do anything within the Flightsim, because you Microsoft and Asobo let us alone in Germany. Still Low Bandwidth warning, still and average Bandwidth used of 250-350 kb/s.

I can load the FlightSim in about a minute, but there is nothing I can do. No free flight, no flightschool, no career no nothing. At least not at normal times when working people would have time for a hobby. I can play around 2-3AM but this is not a solution.

If you guys release a game, based on heavy download whenever the user wants to do anything in your game, How about finding a solution with the dominat ISP in the country (80% market share). Or don’t sell it at all in this country.

I’m really done with this ■■■■

wow… the sim of the future it is i guess

I tried to taxi in the dark at EGLL just now but i didnt notice that the airport didnt load after sitting at gate for 15mins with fibre Internet my god…

So annoying. 250 Mbit, and msfs 24 uses 17 Mbit. It´s simply one thing: frustrating

Have you tried this? https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/low-bandwidth-issues-with-telekom-germany-only/676048/149
I had the same problems, low bandwidth in Germany, Telekom connection. Changing the DNS servers worked for me.
Though of course it shouldn’t be the end users obligation to work out an appropriate network config. And according to Telekom this is not recommended. Nevermind, as long as it works.

Now you know to taxi with your eyes closed next time, sorted! Well done Asobo :+1:

I have the exact same problem. Always low bandwith, of my last 50 hours of “playtime” there were 30 hours of just waiting that the low bandwidth gets resolved.

Important:
Although this should be solved somehow, changing my DNS Server of my computer seemed to solve this issue for me. I was using the Telekom DNS Server in Germany. Super weird, i hope Asobo and microsoft can solve this problem with dns specific problems like that.

Asobo, please, please stop lying and leading your cusomers on that you have resolved the bandwidth/cdn problem as it is CLEAR THAT YOU HAVE NOT. Tell me why I shouldn’t feel rippped of at this point. I paid a lot of money for a defective product that I cannot get a refund for.
And… just for the record. Clicked on “Fly Now” 22 minutes ago and still waiting.

Any simming lawyers want to entertain a consumer fraud class action suit?

After a longe time, I’m struggling with bandwidth issues exactly now. I’m trying to play for 2 hours in a row and I couldn’t even start a single mission - it’s just loading forever.

Very frustrating.

I’ve seen a user who had the same problem (I think it was on reddit, or maybe here, dont remember) who mentioned that after downloading and enabling Cloudfare Warp (vpn like program) thier issues were gone. I tried it too, and now 4 days later i hadn’t had any bandwith or loading issues. The game badnwith usage has gone up from 1 mbps max to 8 mbps minimum while loading, so i can only recommend everyone else this solution until microsoft fixes thier stuff.

Maybe Telekom should pay for it. Maybe…

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• I have the same issue.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Bandwith unstable, sometimes 100 MBit, but most often only 1 MBit or less. “Bandwith too low” message can appear at any time during a flight or whenever else.
Tried multiple different DNS settings on PC and router. Didn’t work at all.
Problem exists since MSFS2024 was installed about two weeks after launch (after Patch 2).
Haven’t had any problems with my internet connection (Telekom) for 20 years or so. Unlikely that it is a Telekom problem, cause everything else runs absolutely perfect and with reliable 100 MBit. So does MSFS 2020.

Exactly. Please tell us, if the problem is resolved long term for you, or if it was just a coincidence with changing the DNS.

Since the problem seems to be inconsistent (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t) and with a lot of people changing their DNS settings, there is a real danger, that DNS settings seem to solve a problem, while its only temporarily “good”. If people just report, that their probem it “solved”, but don’t report back, that the problem reoccurs after some time, Asobo or Microsoft could draw the conclusion, that it’s not their fault.
So, please, everyone who changed DNS settings with only temporary “success” report here so that DNS settings can be ruled out as a general solution.

There is no reason to believe that Telekom is throttling anything (as long as you have a flatrate of course). What you find about that on the internet is basically all “referencing in circles” where a meme started years ago and keeps getting re-told and re-referenced again and again, without any proof.
My Telekom connection runs with stable 100 MBit on all servers across the globe - except MSFS2024.
Retelling the meme about Telekom here on this forum just serves for Microsoft to ignore the problem.

As described before, except a VPN I tried everything to no avail.

Same issue in Germany. More than a month after release. MS server capacity is not enough to handle traffic.

This helped for me, see my SOLVED FOR ME post in this thread.
Nevertheless it should be upvoted to be solved by Microsoft in cooperation with Telekom.

BUG TOPIC SOLVED FOR ME (WORK-AROUND):
The bug as being really Telekom dependent is described here:

The work-around that helped me, was described there in post #100:

It helped sustainably, on 4 week evenings and 1 weekend evening (5 out of 5, before the work-around it was 1 out of 10).

Here’s my work-around configuration:

PC, per LAN cable connected to Fritzbox 7690, 50 Mbit Telekom
DNS-settings in PC network settings: automatic
DNS-settings in Fritzbox:
primary IPV4: 1.1.1.1
secondary 1.0.0.1
primary IPV6: 2606:4700:4700::1111
secondary IPV6: 2606:4700:4700::1001
