Game ran fine until yesterday. Client updated itself, now wont finish loading. Splash screen appears and gets stuck at 56,57 or 58% while “Loading World Data”. The video also freezes, but the sound remains playing. Need to go into task manager to halt the process, ALT F4 doesn’t work, neither does right clicking on the tab in the bar and closing.
I’ve tried resetting it and repairing it through Apps, and I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled it. No difference.
GFX drivers are up to date, as are all other drivers, tried starting it normally and in admin mode, and as I said, game was running perfectly before the update.
Anyone any idea because I’ve done all I can think of and really want to get back in and play.
I’m in the same boat. I was having the World Data stall about 10% of the time before the patch, and now I can only get through about 10% of the time, stalling at 58 or 59%. I also completely unsinstalled multiple times, cleaned out my Community Folder, deleted all lingering MS24 files anywhere I could find them, tried revalidating all the files through Steam … nothing is working. I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling as much as me, but it’s a bit of a relief to know I am not the only one facing the issue.
Same here. I have been able to load the game for over a week but now stuck at 58% loading. I am particularly getting fed up with this nonsense. I have seen some great visuals and got some nice screenshots and video but this not being able to get into the game is more than frustrating. For a game that is supposed to be optimized for high core cpus and modern graphics cards, it is not. I could explain more about my hardware and system but it seems pointless as a simple update cripples everything.
Glad to know I’m not the only one with this issue. Its obvious its having a partial crash, it get to about 57%, the audio pops twice and it just freezes, and doesnt do anything else.
I’ve a nasty feeling it’ll take next weeks patch to sort it, if it sorts it, which is a shame, because I was really enjoying the career rmode.
For those of you stuck at x% when loading a couple of suggestions…
Try syncing your system clock. This was more a fix for slow loading times, but may be related so would be worth a shot…
Right click on the windows clock bottom tight of your screen.
Look for and click on adjust data/time.
Click on Sync Now
Alternatively, you could follow the below thread I posted, this deletes your cloud data for MSFS-2024. ***BUT please be aware it will reset your logbook and wipe your controller profiles. Not sure what other data may get wiped. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ***- but hey if you are desperate I do not mind the consequences…
Same issue here, 56% in my case. Definitely not wiping my cloud data for something they introduced, but I did just sync my clock and will report if that helped.
Just updating that my sim now started, presumably after the maintenance ended. On top of that, SO many missing aircraft are appearing now! Caribou, D17, D18S, Do X, etc. Awesome!
I synced my clock, removed the StreamedPackages folder and still the same, get to 56%, get 2 very slight pops through the audio, and everything freezes, and tried literally just now. I’ll try again tomorrow, Ive been trying to get this to work for the last 8 hours since I had an afternoon off Had enough.
I am having this exact issue and have since the hotfix. Before that, I would successfully load maybe 35% of the time, and even when it got “stuck” the trailer would continue. I am now on somewhere around 30 (now ~50) attempts, and it freezes somewhere between 58% and 64%. Tried all the normal recommendations to no avail including:
-I have ensured there is NOTHING in my community folder.
-I have the latest Nvidia drivers and windows updates etc.
-I am on a Windows 11 PC that exceeds the “required” and “recommended specs” on every item.
-I have zero certificates containing non English characters.
-Clock is synced and in the correct region.
-DNS has been flushed repeatedly. PC rebooted.
-Router and Modem rebooted. Online functionality is running smoothly outside of MSFS 2024.
-Installation folder is, and always has been, at the default location of C:
-I have not, at any time, installed in MSFS 2020 or 2024, the “Google Mod”.
-I do have the Windows 11 24h2 update installed, if it matters, but not the latest preview build.
Same problem for me. Both of my PCs are doing it. I am guessing its something with one of our marketplace purchases? I read somewhere that random marketplace purchases are causing the game to not load. They probably reactivated something they shouldnt have.
Tried deleting the streamed packages folder and syncing clock and no luck.
A reinstall got me loaded 2x last night, but today that doesnt even work. Freezes and the video stops around 60
Support keeps recommending deleting my cloud save to fix this. Has anyone tried that? I’d really rather not unless its sure to fix… I have serious doubts.
Is it your Steam cloud save they’re referring to? I’m tempted to try it. Edit: A fair warning that the cloud save in Steam does appear to save your keyboard profiles, the logbook, and more. There should in theory be local copies of these somewhere. I’m going to attempt erasing the cloud file to see if it helps, but just posting this for the record:
Well, I ended up just turning the steam cloud saves off for this game, loading it, everything worked fine. I didn’t actually delete anything. We’ll see what happens after I turn cloud saves back on.
Sounds good - sounds potentially promising and less drastic than simply opting to delete the cloud saves. Weird how the cloud based saved do appear to be links to CTD’s though. Be interesting to hear what you observe. I best head to bed though 1am in the UK and work in the morning…eurgh!>…
I just tried what worked for me the first time and it didn’t work this time. Sim is back to being stuck at 58% this time. I give up for the night. I hope there’s some news soon, as right now the sim is effectively bricked.
