Multiple screens functionality

I must admit, I’ve run into greater problem than multiscreen. I purchased premium deluxe edition in advance of the release and then began the download on the day MSFS 2020 hit the web. Standard edition loaded but the premier deluxe edition didn’t.I followed the instructions on the web to no avail because it wasn’t the problems that were assumed in that article, so I contacted support (yes, xbox, microsoft store and even zen). Folks tried to be helpful, even logged onto my system remotely to check things out. They determined that my 64 GB liquid cooled system with i9-9000 board, the NVIDIA RTX 3080 card, 1TB SSD drive running MS windows 10 latest version did in fact meet the minimum requirements (the initial assumption they all made was that my system didn’t meet requirements). They also validated that (1) I purchased the software (2) none of the airplanes or airports from premier deluxe edition were to be found in the sim, and (3) they couldn’t download the premier deluxe edition to my system either. The folks at Zen had me send screen shots of everything they could think of. All of this took many weeks given I don’t sit around just trying to make MS Flight Simulator work. When I finally suggested that they refund my money and that I would just try to purchase and install afresh, I was advised that I didn’t request a refund soon enough. So, no! No refund and no product!!
For me that is much worse than not being able to use all my screens!!
Have fun and I hope you don’t need any support.

Cheers,
William P. Yeakel

Mmm, so you had the RTX 3080 when MSFS 2020 was released?

sorry to say but -
try full new installation of win10, wipe completely and after new OS install put FS2020 on the system. it must load the program. despite all bugs and issues, the basic program must work.

i Agree 100% Asobo seems to think that a person with a xbox or vr flying with a Xbox controller is the main customer here. I have a friend with VR he lasted 10 mins and was sick all day from it. But besides that Its the Serious Flight simmers /real world pilots who kept FSX and Prepar3d Alive all these years not a 12 year old gamer.

I was sooo hoping for multi-monitor support. I have 3 screens ready and running RTX3080 card I purchased specifically for MS2020. The monitor I bought are all 49" Samsung so when the screen stretches around the pitot tube on the C152 is about 15" long.
These guys have made such an amazing product. Seriously got the world for $125.00.. incredible.
Just wish somehow the screens didn’t stretch and mess up the view…
Hopefully soon!!!

Triple 24" 1080p setup (5760x1080) with a fifth 12" monitor above. Is there seriously still no roadmap for this bug? We need undockable windows for all views and instrument clusters. This is the difference between being viewed as an Xbox arcade and a bonafide sim, setups that inspire future simmers and simmers that dream of their ideal virtual cockpit and brag when it’s done, the 5 hours played and forgotten steam game vs the “and the third bedroom is my flight deck.” Asobo gave us the gift of exploring the world in the very year we’ve been told to stay inside only our dreams of immersive scenery have been shattered into watching a slideshow on a foot tall box. I spent $120 at launch, built a computer, destroyed my monthly data cap on release week, attempted some cross country bush flying to be greeted by distorted views and an autopilot more homicidal than HAL 9000. I’ve avoided the sim since despite pouring thousands of hours of my youth into FS98-2000-2002-2004-FSX. I’ve returned amid news of plethora of bug fixing only to see multi monitor isn’t on a road map or at least not on the dev radar for another year. We were on the verge of greatness. I’ve submitted my vote, sadly, to add my weight to convincing the team to fix this essential simulator element. Why wait 4 months to add my vote, you ask? Because I wrongly assumed like many others such a needed feature would be an implicit priority of development at launch, much less 6, 12, 18 months after release. Multi monitor and cockpit building simmers may not represent the bulk of users, but they do represent the enthusiastic, the community builders, the deep pockets, the creative, the sharers, the tinkerers, the word of mouthers, the lifelong customers. There’s an entire industry built up around this missing feature. So please, do your part and bring this modern marvel the rest of the way home.

Hey Mark, nice videos. Could I ask what you are using for monitors? And what graphics card are you using to power the monitors. Finally, does the card go to something else (another hardware item) to enable 3 monitor support? Thanks!

The video is not mine.

“I” am using a 4K TV (LG C9 55") as my main monitor off of my 2080Ti hdmi - 120Hz; a 32-1440 monitor plugged into my Intel graphics card for LNM, and an iMac for browsing and updating my spreadsheet of flights.

I decided to wait another year for three monitors. LG is talking about releasing a 48" wrap-around, 1000R TV that would be awesome in a 3 monitor setup for MSFS. By then I am hoping they have worked out some of the issues in regards to FPS and maybe the 3080 Ti will be out and can drive the three monitors in 4K at 30 fps. Time will tell!

Seriously, a three-monitor setup is no longer just for the high-end crowd. These days a couple of extra 1080 monitors can be cheaper than any other single component of the system, and any midrange graphics card can drive them. Having run triple monitors for months with FSX, it’s still pretty frustrating to make do with one window at a time. Puhleeasse, Asobo!

We need somehow to accelerate this issue. We are giving Sobol opportunity to take their time.

We need at least another 100 votes to bit the issue above us to move to second place. Don’t like to be in third place.

We need to make much more noise. Does anyone knows professional writers to bring this issue up in trade publication, plus all the simmers web site etc.

We are so polite in this form that got us nowhere. With more exposure just let the entire simmer world shout!

Microsoft/Asobo mentioned in an interview they would work on VR and Multi Monitor support in parallel as there are many similarities. Now they launched VR but we have to wait for Multi Monitor support for another year. That’s not understandable and very hard to accept.

I’m stunned that we don’t have multiple monitor support already. It’s a high priority IMO.

I can see massive potentiail in MSFS but currently I’ve gone back to P3D and just occasionally start up MSFS to see how it’s going.

Why? I have a triple monitor setup on P3D that works fine. Because the monitors don’t all have the same resolution I can’t use Nvida Surround, and I gather that has its own limitations and distortions.

The difference in immersion between 1 and 3 monitors is staggering. Someone suggested TrackIR - you still don’t get the peripheral mission.

I believe proper multi-monitor support was supposed to be launch feature. We’re still waiting and P3D will remain by far my first choice as flight sim until MSFS has equivalent multi-monitor support.

I was quite disappointed by this as well. And did you know that if you pop out a window like a garmin to move it to another screen, you only get the display, you still have to manipulate it from its original position. REALLY??? Whats the point? Back in olden time I ran a 4 monitor system and was able to move the whole overhead panel to an overhead display, and same with the side windows, If I moved the garmin to the side window I could control it from there, not have to look back to the cockpit to do so.

There is so much lacking in this game at launch I dont know how they can call it anything but a BETA release.

It does not in msfs

Without multiple screen immersion it remains a video game. We should catch up with the REAL simulators eventually.

Hope multi-monitor capability gets priority for those of us who want real flying experience.
