Navlog timer and view resets when reopening in bush trips

Brief description of the issue:

I noticed in an Australia bush trip that if you close and reopen the Navlog, if you’d started the time, the time resets to zero and the timer stops, and any collapsed segments reopen. It’s also happening in the Malaga bush trip.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

i7-9700KF, RTX3080, 32GB 3200 RAM

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

SU8

Confirm this is happening also, all Bush Trips and all World Map flights.
Issue started after Service Update 8 (SU8) and is not caused by todays 22/03/24 World Update 8 (WU8). I tested non-VR only.

It is similar/same as the atc menu reset issue here.

NavLog does not remember last state after closing.

  1. When the Navlog is re-opened, it is at the top, Leg 1 and all waypoints opened.
  2. Stop Watch resets to zero after reopening, every close/open.

Prior to SU8, when using NavLog, if a waypoint was closed, it would remain closed and the scroll position would be retained after closing the NavLog. Stop Watch would remember time.

This appears to be an issue with all toolbar panels (at least in VR). Each panel when closed in a specific config, reverts to default position and info when re-opening (inVR). A workaround is to minimize the window instead of closing.

I found exactly the same today while flying one of the Iberia Bush trips.

It happens during a regular free flight aswell.

Yes, it’s due to the fact that all windows reset after you close them, so the timer also resets.

Lets hope that they will fix this in SU10.

Hello! Checking in here to see if Sim Update 10 fixed this issue? Thanks!

No unfortunately it hasn’t.
It’s still broken :anguished:.

Ah okay, thank you! I will make sure this bug report is moving along internally. Appreciate the help!

Since you are at it, could you also move along the drone roll bug report?
It’s been broken since SU5 .
I really appreciate your help.

Brief description of the issue:

NavLog still resets after closing and opening again!
With some planes coming with SUXI / 40th year anniversary, I wonder how anybody would do a historical correct flight when using the Stopwatch in the NavLog.
For dead reckoning a proper working stopwatch is key.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

  • Start a bushtrip (or any other flight with a flightplan)
  • Open the NavLog, start the Stopwatch in the NavLog
  • Close the NavLog
  • Open the Navlog again
  • Stopwatch is at 00:00.00 stopped

Same here on PC 1.30.12.0, first time that I notice it on the Swiss Alps bushtrip : Each legs it starts before dawn. I have to wait 5-10mn to see something (it’s darker between mountains than in the plains, great job !). Each leg should take, as departure time, the departure time of first leg + the flight time used until the current leg.
It’s really annoying.

Add to that : there is a dark or black line that appears at dawn around the Horizon, through the mountains. It makes the Alps bush trips a lot less enjoyable.

Just want to add my frustration with this during regular flights as well.

Whenever flying and using Navlog, once closed by pressing N the Navlog resets timer.

I’ve given up on bush trip bugs, I’m just used to them now.

Bush trips are waaay down on the priority list.

The horizon line has been on their list for months.

Fixed in SU12: Release Notes - Sim Update 12 [1.31.22.0] Available Now

Re-opening as I received a report that the timer is fixed, but the view is not reset. If anyone would like to confirm your findings here please post and I’ll send the feedback to the team. Thanks!
