NeoFly: fly missions as a bush pilot in MSFS

i did get it to work but had to change ramps for some reason it didnt work when i chose ramp 1

I cant even get mine to connect — :frowning:

it works perfectly for me, on the other hand how to switch to different category? and airplane mods are taken into account?
in any case it’s really great! I love

Yes, too similar! it’s obvious.
I don’t think the OnAir developers will appreciate this initiative.
Donate to Neofly developers to pay the lawyers… :pensive:

There is nothing in this addon for airliners right ? I know it’s mainly bush pilots, but I saw something about airliners in menus.

Try to delete the “SimConnect.cfg” and start the software again. For me this does the trick

Also set the pilot to 190 and take out the copilot and anything else not needed in the weights.

You should leave the Pilot and Copilot weight as 170lbs each, and add 190lbs cargo.

That also worked for me! – I appreciate it Big Time – BIGLY! – I also tried OnAir and it connected no problem

What in the world is “Malus realism”? I got docked 30% XP and I don’t even know what it means. I had a nice landing, following all correct procedures with lights and everything.

Anyone else figure out what “Malus realism” is and how to not get that deduction?

The little tool is really super simple and still makes the flight simulator a lot more exciting. It has a career mode that means you start with single-engine machines and then improve, that’s how it should be.
What is still missing is the money overview, which I haven’t found yet. What’s also really cool is that additional audio files are played for the individual missions.
Which might be really cool if you could see which machines can be used for the individual missions and which cannot. Keep it up that could be a great software it is already because I missed exactly these functions in the simulator.

It’s a penalty for flying with crash damage disabled (can be toggled somewhere in Options → Assists in the sim).

Nonsense. Onair isn’t the only ‘career addon’ around: it’s not like they invented it and own the rights for it… And besides, Onair is a LOT more complicated, managing stuff and all: NeoFly is a lot simpler and (imho) a lot more fun (because I like to fly, not to manage a company). Biggest difference: NeoFly is free! I personally HATE addons that require a paid subscription.

I am not an expert in software patents, but it still seems risky to make software so similar.
There is no indication for the moment that Neofly will remain free after the beta phase. If that was the case, and to protect themselves, they would have to release it as an opensource license.
But I agree with you that it’s a very promising addon that I also like a lot and which is progressing very quickly. He could quickly get to the same level as Onair.
And like you, I would never take a paid subscription for an addon.
I really hope that NeoFLy will remain free and that OnAir’s devs will stay cool and not prevent its evolution.

OnAir themselves copied the (then years old) FSEconomy concept. They don’t own it.

That said, I am not an expert either…

Personally, I like Neofly so far. I did a video on it, and hope it stays free with the Donate option available. Video link here: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/eoTMpQL5XB4 for those of you that are interested. Cheers Dion YT: #dionm01

Few questions:

  • just did my first flight. Bonus comfort 44 XP, bonus landing 48 XP. However, the Pilot tab only shows 48 XP? Shouldn’t that have been 92 XP?

  • is it correct that the pilot HAS to be 190 lbs? Any other number and the payload button (often) stays red. I had a very hard time getting that button to green… (almost gave up on the entire addon). Only after a long time I noticed the payload line showing ‘Pilot (190)’ and when I set it to 190 the button finally went green…

  • is there a way of knowing a drop mission can actually be completed…? As in: does NeoFly know there is an area nearby you can actually land? Tried one drop mission (medic) three times but never could land the plane properly.

  • after completing a mission and parking on the tarmac can I immediately proceed to the next one starting from the airport I am at? I remember reading somewhere a flight won’t be registered if you do so…?

Few suggestions:

  • add a filter that only shows missions that can be flown with a selected aircraft: I had to end a mission and pick a new one 4 or 5 times before I finally got one I could actually fly (the prevous missions had to much pax or cargo)

  • make the very first plane selectable: it took me 5 minutes of trying and waiting before I figured out the default NeoFly plane is tne C172 G1000 while I was sitting in the steam gauges version… I have to add I cheated here and edited the hangar.txt because this kind of flying isn’t fun with a glass cockpit.

40 for the mission +4 confort +4 landing.

Yes.
[edit] fixed in 1.3.2

I tink no.

Yes except pizza and medic where you have to return to the departure airport.

It just got updated with many new features!
Live Emergencies, Aircraft Market and Hangar, and more.

Does anyone know if there is a way to add airports? I downloaded the Machmell Fisheries airfield freeware addon and was planning to use it as a base. The author gave it CYB2 as a code to find in the sim. It appears Neofly may only use default airports. I hope they plan a scenery update feature in the future.
