SanMan140579979 - Thank you Sir! I will get this update. I appreciate the help!
No problem…enjoy the G9
RainbowYard349 - I’m doing similar to you. I’m replacing a 2011 Toshiba 32TL515U 3D HDTV. The Toshiba is rated at 240HZ, but somehow it has been stuck on 60Hz without the option to go higher. The 3D was great in my opinion.
Anyway… Yes, my G97T is topping out 119HZ. I will get the current update that SanMan140579979 said to get and report back.
Ok . Any good price deal areas for Odyssey. It’s expensive . I see Newegg has it for 1,495.00 and that’s the G97 not the older G95
I’m so done with my current monitor . It’s screen tearing badly panning in VC of all aircraft and flickering too. Think my stock DP cable came with this LG monitor back in 2013 is goin out as well
If your set on getting the G9, invest in a better DP cable for it. The one that comes with it isn’t the greatest. Grabbed this one off of Amazon and works great.
What GPU are you running?
That’s about the going price maybe $20 cheaper at some retailers. I picked mine up at microcenter. Didnt want to chance damage during shipping. That just me being paranoid and not having to wait😁
SanMan140579979 - Great advice! Mine came with a 6’ DP cable.
If you really want to go sexy with your setup…mine just arrived today…need the HX adapter to hold the center weight of the G9

Excuse the mess…temp setup until room is finished…stuck in laundry room for now…lol
Dang !!! I’m goin for the G9 now !!!
SanMan149579979 - Great set up! Very nice!
I tried out my TrackIR5 this evening on MSFS 2020 and P3D v4.5. Everything worked very well. I did a one hour, low level flight between some local airports in MSFS 2020. Then I did a 1/2 flight in P3D v4.5. I had No monitor related issues in either sim.
I have not updated my G9 yet, but if I’m impressed with 120 hz, then I’m sure 249 Hz will be better.
I have had no heat related issues with my unit either… I might have gotten lucky or Samsung sorted out whatever was going on earlier…
Oh man those pics are quality ! The colors are awesome ! That’s it , Odyssey it is !
You realize you’re seeing screenshots, right?
The monitor, and its quality or not, are playing no role whatsoever other than the aspect ratio.
Yes , he said these are coming from his monitor . When u say screenshot , he is taking them and posting them right ? I don’t understand what the potential agreement/disagreement is about ? Could u please elaborate?
The screenshot is capture by the computer from the computer. It is not a photo. The aspect ratio of the screenshot is the only thing that the monitor contributes to the screenshot. Nothing else. Not the colors, contrast, etc.
Quick question. Why is it that when you use the game bar to capture images, you get two picture when in HDR? One always looks blowen out( to bright ), the other dimmer? Are there other option to use for capturing screen shot with Hdr enabled or is that just the way it is?
I have the G9 5120x1440 and Love it, No ghosting here, but then cant imagine any ghosting at 240Hz and 1ms anyway?
some did suffer from flickering at high Hz, however the latest 1010.2 bios seems to have sorted that from what I hear, not that I had any flickering on mine anyway.
Some people, like me. love the 32:9 ratio, some don’t, MSFS2020 does tend to stretch a bit near the edges (as it does on 21:9 too) however if if you don’t zoom out to far it look great, but reckon that’s the same on most monitors above 16:9, unless made for ultra wide screen?
its basically the size as of your 34" 21:9 height wise with the extra width giving a great peripheral view, however on games that don’t look good/work well, you can use 3440x1440 (same as your old monitor) if required, which gives it great flexibility in my opinion.
As a work station of course it awesome too, its basically 2x 16:9 monitors (2560x1440) side by side without the bezel
Its very fast response time, HDR1000, g-sync and free-sync compatible
The curve works really well too.
