Hi thanks for posting results can you do it with clear skies so they are consistent test environments.
Good video.
It would be nice to show the settings in sim, for reference, as well as the settings in the Nvidia panel (if any).
I imagine you have V-Sync Off. How do you avoid screen tearing?
Thank you
I appolagize I cannot. Maybe next time I do a benchmark I will do it with clear Skye’s . ( Can you please provide me a bit more detail as to why clear skies? I added a few clouds to give a little bit of a torture test to the benchmark)
I like making a lot of this kind of content but it takes a long time that is why I cannot go back and redo this.
I apologize I was in a hurry and I literally forgot to add those portions at the end if you could believe that. It’s kind of rushed and stupid on my part. I will definitely be more careful and consider this for my next benchmark.
I have since done 2 or 3 short flights and I don’t seem to get that message anymore with DSSL on using the 522.25 drivers.
Ok initially thought wow what a game changer this driver is. 3080ti,12700k, exclusively VR with a G2 in DX 12. Only did a couple of circuits at some local third party addon airports. Got the smoothest ever performance locked at 30 fps. Well these flights only ever lasted 10-12mins,took of and landed with plenty of head space. Today took two longer flights in between addon airports, each around 30mins. Took off from LFSB with 30 fps and landed at LSZB with less than 20 fps and it was a slide show. Anyone experienced performance degradation as well? GPU memory was at 8.7 out of my 12fb
I read that DX12 still suffers from performance loss during the game while this would be settled with DX11. I speak for SU10. We should try with DX11 and 12 to compare.
I think there is a bug in dlss.
try to set it to taa apply and then put dlss back on. with me my fps is returning to 40fps i. VR
with a reverb and 11700 in open xr 130
open toolkit and most in ultra.
btw I choose dx 11 gives me 5fps more
You need to restart the game for the change to take effect.
I always set VSync to “Fast” in the NCP and leave it “On” in game. The NCP overrides the MSFS settings so basically it doesn’t matter there.
That sounds more like an MSFS issue. People have been complaining about that for a while. There’s a long thread about it. Don’t expect a driver will be able to fix that
If you’re talking about switching between TAA and DLSS then I confirm you don’t have to restart the Sim. I switched back and forth tons of time yesterday making tests, it’s immediately applied.
This is key … like me, you lock your fps to 30 which allows plenty of headroom… clearly reducing stuttering.
It’s the “fps chasers” that moan about stuff.
When your cpu and gpu are maxing out … 45 55 70 fps… whatever, of COURSE you will get stutters as everything is queuing up constantly.
If one or the other is maxed and the other is idling… change your settings to balance the system.
It’s not rocket science.
Just adjust settings to get a minimum of say 40 to 45.. then lock them at 30 … and forget it.
Nothing will run it at 60 fps min everywhere AND look pretty…that’s a few years away yet.
it’s going ok at 50 almost all the time. some places drop to 30-40… it’s about system and settings… if some addon or close addons broken speed and overload something like vram or ram or drive or net streaming speed. nothing will help. we can talking about worst situation when cpu overload. but same bad case if overload some stuff mentioned above. but as concept it’s absolute right. just some system better be lock at 33 or 47 or 60 it’s no matter what exactly for msfs. speed enough system for today can handle 90fps at standard place and 30 lock is overkill it’s overkill even if sim play good at 50. because for eye enjoy 50 much better than 30 same as 97 much better than 60 or 150 better than 100 etc. other thing is freesync or gsync that help to avoid changing fps sick effect, don’t talking about tearing. i play some games. and if by some reason g-sync adaptive disabled i feel something really wrong with playing game. but if it’s works you absolutely ok with 60-97 sure not so cool as 90-97… but again any noticable laggs is only about overload something like cpu core or some stream in system especially vram limit. in crysis remastered i just can not use max textures because of vram overload in that case… but for gpu is ok… 2080ti 11gb. but nvidia by some reason push much faster gpu with less or just a bit more vram… this is really strange
What!!! Maybe pre SU5 but now some folk are easily getting over 60fps on maximum graphic settings even at 4k. I do myself at a lesser resolution with my rtx3060. … High fps’ are pretty important for those of us doing aerobatics especially with headtracking involved.
I agree with you on here, but if i understand it right this will run a program for this outside msfs where it is tobii or trackir or whatever program so interaction together bring up spikes or whatever it is called.
Maybe its needed to give backgroundservice prior to run programs in swapfile
Or give secondary programs higher fps in nvcp say 63 to 75 in frame limitation.
Forgive my dutch but i think you know what i mean
I’ve been using Opentrack with an Aruco setup and a cheap 60fps webcam with no spikes and virtually no loss in performance, super fast movements may skip in the tracking but with a 60fps cap MSFS doesn’t miss a beat. How much my CL14 ram @ 3333MHz helps I don’t know but in SU11 beta it’s pretty much butter everywhere.
Just a quick example over naples
Very well done, i guess aruco is way to go very direct on input i would say.
I will try later on i use open track with ps3 camera but with accela which works nice but compare to aruco more slow on input i think.
I have not tried the new nvidia driver yet for i was away for a couple of days but i try later today
Also im not in beta su11
I found this statement to be crucial. Anytime you change aliasing options you should restart at least the flight if not the whole game. Thank God I discovered this while making my benchmark videos and before misleading everyone. I would notice weird frame rate drop when switching anti-aliasing mid game and quickly realized it needed a reset. I hope people know that or at least discover it on their own
Yeah its pretty good if you have the right lighting however in darkened conditions the webcam light can reflect off the aruco into the lens and cause a skip, not usually a problem once you adjust the angle upwards a little.
