The Studio driver is best for systems doing lots of video, photo, and film processing.

The “studio” driver is the same as the “game” driver, it’s just been tested longer.

Eh…this sounds like “cornflakesbox-info” to me. The studio driver is aimed towards work more than gaming, and for those using video editors, photo editors etc, it might be a bit more stable - but could suffer in games. Thats what Ive heard. Please provide some more info about this is just tested longer. I could be totally wrong here… @DreadfulHydra50

It’s just simple… Game-Ready Drivers have focus on Games and needs so other release cycles than Studio drivers which have the focus on “nvidia studio”. In real are less “experiements” within the studio drivers and so I tell it often " beta versus stable "

The “game-ready” driver would only really make any sense if:
(a) you had just received a major update for a game that you own;
(b) and that this game you own is specifically included in the “supported” list for the Day0 Game-Ready graphics driver.
Ps. It will be interesting to see when FS2020 SU10 officially gets released whether NVidia also releases a “Game-Ready” update which is taking into account the new DLSS & DX12 modes.

I have a crash of the driver and the game with the following error message: [nvlddmkm NVIDIA Corporation VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED]. I am playing on a laptop I have the integrated video chip and the discrete nvidia graphic card.
If it’s an Alienware (Dell) laptop you could be a victim of their discreet (and dishonest) thermal throttling cheat (google it).

I think he is making reference to support being withdrawn for these 10 series cards, I have one. This does not stop one from installing drivers for the 10 series, they are listed in the Nvidia supported cards list right now.
Apart from that, I am not sure what he is talking about either.

Yes, I want to know also. In this particular case, in my 1060 6Gb, this last driver didn’t work so well. But I’m always keep my drivers up to date.

I just keep updating my drivers for my 1070, I see they are still listed as compatible. Everything is ‘gravy’ as far as I am concerned.
