New Release: Carenado Cessna C170B

Perfectly controllable on ground. Taildraggers are a challenge to learn. Part of the fun of this great hobby.

If you want to save a new pilot VFR view the sim crashes, just like with other Carenado planes. Unbelievable they didn’t fix this.

We love this Aircraft but do wish that Carenado would retire Old Mr Grumpy !
We’ve been trying to persuade them to give us a Lady Aviator.
Flight Suit optional. Goggles and Scarf a must !

Oh well,… It’s time that Mr Grumpy was ‘Retired’.

ps. Beloved Co Pilot just hissed,…" What have you done ! That might be one of the Dev’s" .
Thom,… Oh no no and thrice no. We’ll never get an intrepid Lady Aviator now. (sob).

Out now on the Marketplace for $15, a pretty acceptable price.

Reviews? Pics? Impressions?
Personally with the release of the C140 this week I’m all set on older Cessnas.

It’s not “out now”. Only after the marketplace updates, so don’t bother…

No, it’s out for me on my Marketplace

Well, now it’s out.

I would be interested in a comparison to the P3D version (Alabeo) as I have that.

Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if its a bug, but my cylinder temp is maxed out when the engine is running.

I think it’s a decent aircraft to fly and it looks amazing. But the battery dies when I repeatedly pressing L key trying to figure out how to control the cabin light.

Same here. I goes up really quick and stays maxed out. Doesn’t seem to affect anything.

After one hour VFR flight, my conclusions: well worth the price if you’re not looking for a fancy study level plane. It’s simple and barebones, only one nav and the simple GPS is optional. Sounds and modeling are at par with recent Carenado planes, not much to complain there. There’s the usual bugs with some cockpit instruments (namely the turn indicator and cyl head temps), but the rest works fine. Knowing Carenado’s recent track record, these will be fixed in a week. The night lighting is better than average, and landing light seems adequate for the job. It flies nice, reminds me of the Waco, even if C170 is not quite as stable. Did not try the Tundra variant yet, so can’t say much about that. The performance numbers differ somewhat, as tundra has apparently higher cruise speed and less endurance. Windows and doors open, you have usual Carenado extras while parked, tailwheel is animated, there’s extra clickspots in the cockpit air vents to open those, and you can also hear the change in audio while doing so.

If someone is interested of the audio, I made a short clip for you (don’t mind the take-off, as I was fiddling with other things at the same time – Take-off performance is 100% pilot error in this case ). https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/N_l1lA4r7pw

It looks good.
Can this be purchased outside of the marketplace?

No, Carenado aircraft are marketplace only

If he really wants MY Money , do the C337 skymaster next, and my wife will NEVER see me again.

ok. thanks.

Alabeo = Carenado  only the MSFS planes get a complete overhaul/update

Flown it about 2 hours tonight. Not bad for $15. Couple glitches (as noted above) plus i can’t find a alternator switch. Ran the interior lights and they killed the battery. I have a switch panel and when i turned on the alt switch everything came back on. The wing root vents were a nice little surprise, even give you wind sound. If you like tail draggers, well worth the money. I’m sure they will update this pretty quickly.
