does this have the standard MSFS pilot avatars or again only the usual two Carenado dudes ?
Carenado dudes ( my guess is they are called Fernando and Mauricio )
thank you for checking.
According to the POH the master switch should do both main power and turn on the generator.
This was a known bug of the Alabeo 170B that this is based on. It looks like they imported the Alabeo âgenerator not enabled when turning on master switchâ bug along with what ever else was ported over.
Lovely plane, especially for the price, but the bugs are headscratchers for me. The cylinder head temperature and the battery problem are things that I noticed immediately (CHT) or 10 minutes into the flight (battery).
How little testing must go into a product in order for obvious things like that to slip by into the release candidate?
I think due to the better DRM system. Some of the releases from other studios have been leaked already on suspicious sites. With the DRM system implemented by Asobo itâs impossible to use it as long as your account doesnât have the license for that particular product.
Love the old Cessna taildraggers. Never been disappointed with Carenadoâs releases for MSFS (although I didnât get the 172) as we kind of know what to expect and bugs are squashed pretty quickly.
Itâs a shame they didnât code the engine to fail when cylinder head temp maxes out, maybe with some coughing or a change in audio pitch as you approach the red. I imagine it would be a relatively easy mod if it wasnât Marketplace encrypted.
Does it have an OBI or ADF needle at all?
Thank God. Another single engine GA. Just what we need.
Your probably being sarcastic - but yes I do agree with Xbox release due any day, the more variety in the GA area which this game excels at is exactly what we need just now.
Thank god. Another post moaning about a single engine GA. Just what we need.
A couple of observations⊠First, thatâs about how it looks when I try taking off in a tail dragger, so donât feel bad. And Iâm disabled, so using a rudder twist on a joystick instead of pedals. Second, you had a wicked crosswind. Third, do you have the rudder assist for takeoff turned on? And finally, how are you controlling your camera??
I am also curious if this b1rd is VR ready, and by VR ready, I mean this: Is an aircraft properly VR ready? Watch this video to find out⊠- YouTube
Yes, I know the video quality sucks, not sure why, I think itâs because I edited the video in YouTube rather than elsewhere. I really should reshoot it. But it at least gets my point across about what I mean when I say âVR readyâ.
Kev
It has an OBI for the single nav radio. Thereâs no ADF radio.
Bought it because I love Cessna Aircraft and because I flown one for real, just a couple minor issues, with the Tundra version the right wheel sinks into the ground when landing causing you to crash, already reported it to carenado but the more reports they get the better. Also the buttons to change radio frequency dont work, also reported that to them. Overall a fun aircraft to fly.
I am quite content with this C170B but I just had some very strange landings, as if one tyre went flat and the right wheel just sunk into the ground:
No it is not, and i dont mean by your definition . When you hit the keybind to center your vr cockpit view, it puts you in the back seat. Also, this seems to happen most in carenado birds, but is most eggregious here, is the cockpits scale too small.. i really felt like i could sit with one leg on each seat, flap lever between my knees like a flight stick, and hang one hand comfortably on each yoke. The whole cockpit looks about 3 feet wide. This is the only plane i have in 3 sims that scales this poorly. Nice plane tho
My other complaint is the gps is by default equipped . I wish it was an " opt in" rather than an âopt outâ
There also seems to be a problem with LODâs when flying with other C170Bâs in multiplayer (might be sim related) when viewed from a distance the landing gear/wheel disappears on one side. (need some more investigation)
Also it sounds like there are still SDK issues for some devs to bring more complex and/or higher level of detail to market.
A2A has said there is one major SDK issue to be fixed by Asobo before they can start to release any of their Accu-Sim products.
And the T-34⊠From scratch, please⊠One of my favorite rides in FSX.
The 170 is an aircraft I love because I think itâs such an interesting transition point between âclassicâ and âmodernâ light GA. I always wanted a high quality one back in my FS2004 days, spent 15 years or so away from the hobby, so Iâm thrilled to have this now. Did notice the CHT temp gauge being pegged on my first flight, glad to know itâs not just me. No big deal and Iâm sure it will be corrected. I hope they add a version on floats, if/when Asobo ever gets seaplane operations back to the level they were at in FS2004 that is. $15 is also a very fair price for an addon like this I think.
Carenado/Alabeo seems to make pretty much âexclusivelyâ the type of planes that most interest me so if they want to port their whole back catalog at this level of quality, I will eat it up. Staggerwing next, please and thank you, and the Businessliner after that.
