New Release: Carenado Piper PA-34 Seneca V

The same is for every RL aircraft:))) - just a “3D models” flying in the same sky:) Carenado has HD versions of their planes for other sims, they are a bit better.

haha, okey, basically true, but i was more talking about plane specific systems and performance to the book.
But yeah, i dont want to downtalk them too much, but if they would go a bit deeper i would be more statisfied.

Anyway, i will get it, as it will be a good addition to my AirHauler2 fleet. The C172 is good for starters but for IFR and longer/bigger jobs the seneca might be perfect.

I’d love to see a 414 with full heated windshield.

Yes that’s part of it. Couldn’t understand why people bought the Carenado Arrow instead of the JustFlight.
Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against Carenado planes. I really like the Mooney and the Waco. They’re not sophisticated, but look good and are fun. That’s their way of doing things and the sim needs simple planes as well as extremely realistic planes.

If I didn’t already have the Seminole I would consider the Seneca of course as a steam gauge twin. But I can’t see why Carenado brought this one instead of something completely different like the Cessna Centurion or the Beech D18S.

Ah well. Don’t have to understand everything

Yeah, honestly, i would have preferred another plane from them too, we have plenty of similag GAs now.
If they would bring something bigger that would fit me more. Waiting for the DO228 or the ATR or a business Jet or the PC12 atleast.

But they take the most simple way to release their products, which is understandable from a Developers POV. Adjusting the PA44 to the PA34 was probably easy for them, they “just” had to export the already existing 3d model in MSFS native, do some texture work and a few adjustments to the fligh model. Rest was “copy/paste” to put it simple.

Probably we will see their whole Piper Twin-selection coming now as they follow this scheme. I hope im wrong and get surprised with something else tho, we will see…

Thanks for all your great reviews and updated list of aircraft really appreciate your work

What exactly do you mean by trade it in? Is this something Carenado will do or are you just joking? I recently bought the Ovation but it does not function well in VR as there is no cockpit instrument zoom as there is in their Arrow III. I went to zendesk and they just replied that they noted it it and that was all.

I’d like to see from them a Seneca with a cockpit like in FSW from DTG (I wonder is there a way to port FSW models to MSFS?). And their current avionics better suits for something like Malibu.

If you’re talking about the screens instead of the gauges - I believe gauges are more popular at the moment as we have a large amount of aircraft already that feature the full glass cockpits. I prefer the gauges and was getting bored flying GA aircraft with the whole front panel replaced with the same screens.

I am more about some variety of avionics in the sim. By the way, they have a PA31 CHIEFTAIN 350 FSX/P3D in their line with a cockpit looking like Seneca’s from FSW, but are they to release her for MSFS2020?

Thought about that too. But I can understand they didn’t do that since the Turboprops still not work properly.

For me the Seneca will replace the Seminole. It does everything Seminole does, but a bit better. I have over 60 hours in the Seminole, so its a welcome upgrade. I’m also flying over the Andes atm, so better high altitude performance is also welcome. Oh yeah, Seneca has deicing,

Btw, if this plane was made by JustFlight, it would also be almost twice the price, curbing that enthusiasm for some.

Thanks for posting reviews.

How is the systems programming as I’m a little cautious of paying for a Carenado product?

Also is the cold and dark accurate or will it fire up every time?

Do you mean these antennae at the edge of the wing? They just move with the airflow now, as earlier they have been static. It was an improvement for me, rather than a glitch.

Very brief initial impressions are that it’s good. Not in the same league as JF’s Arrow, but as a twin that can be flown in icing conditions somewhere further away than the Arrow can get in the same amount of time it’s not bad.

I’ve never flown the Seneca V (only the 2 & 3) but I would say the handling is far too twitchy. When I say far, I mean FAR!! (with alarm bells, fireworks, brass band fanfare). It’s crazy how twitchy it is (and I’m using a Honeycomb Alpha yoke).

I would score it somewhere between 6.5-7.5/10

I am certainly not paid for my reviews and I purchased 36 out of 37 aircraft I have.

Cold and Dark is accurate. If you start at Ramp, it will be cold and dark. You can then use the iPad to switch states if you wish. They have 3 states preset.

Carenado, i love your aircrafts for their detail level and accuracy, BUT please, make their flight dynamics more elastic for the pitch behavior. I can‘t feel the weight of them.
Especially this, the Seminole and the Waco feels way to light around the pitch axis. Or open the flight model.cfg’s that we can tune for our own equipment.:pray:t2:
I‘ve a Thrustmaster Cougar with the Ünext mode with hal potis, so my stick is not the problem.
The Mooney for example feels much better on the pitch axis.

They do seem like they would be kind of similar if you already have the Seminole, but the Seminole never really appealed to me because of its relative lack of speed and capacity for a twin. I would have preferred something pressurized like a Cessna 421 or Beech Duke (and will still buy those if/when someone makes them), but for me the Seneca was a big enough step in the right direction for me to finally bite.

People, if you like to make suggestions like change the flight model or add GTN750, please write to carenado directly.
