Did you get this issue solved? I fly all three with the 530/430 enabled. You get “the best of both worlds” I think: steam gauges and a more recent GPS-capable avionics stack.
All three models are simply outstanding to fly. Hope you get the Garmin issue sorted!
This is particularly so in the Sim, with a smaller screen @ 1080P
The all Glass cockpits are difficult to read when the whole panel is in view, so one is constantly changing camera angles.
The Steam gauges are a lot easier to “Glance at”.
If / When I get to go to 2K or 4K, I might think different – if I can get a 3rd Mortgage for a suitable Video card.
My system works fine (No CTDs) with a modest t gaming Laptop (Acer Nitro 5) and a 1080P monitor. Averages 30 FPS – 60 FPS would not make me a better pilot - just a poorer one.
There is a technical theory (sourced from outside MSFS community) going around that the higher speeds CPUs are causing the Coherent graphics system to have synchronization issues .. and slowing down these faster CPU stops that, while they can run other games at full overclock speed without issue.
Anyone notice any noticeable differences between the feel of the Arrow 3 Turbo and Arrow 4 Turbo due to the T-tail design?
Only thing I notice is a slightly heavier feel to the T-tail equating to the need for higher Vr on takeoffs.
No, if you buy the Turbo first, there is no discount whatsoever. You’d have to pay the full price for the normally aspirated version as well.
There’s a bundle for both which has a big discount.
But the best option now is to buy the regular arrow first, try it out and see if it suits you and then buy the Turbo with the bigger discount if you like it’s benefits. This is the cheapest way, I ended up paying around 48€ for both (included using the reward points from the Arrow purchase for the Turbo purchase).
You should buy the Turbo-only version only if you never plan to buy the normally aspirated version ever. Otherwise it’s a very bad deal.
Not sure it’s worth buying the normally aspirated at all, if you fly the turbo arrow low you get similar performance yet you get the advantage if you climb high. The only thing is more variety in paint schemes. If you fly in high altitude regions like the Alps you’ll want the turbo version if not then either will do. Flying high AGL to get speed is only good if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere but at the cost of being far from the scenery. So it really comes down to the type of flying you want to do whether it’s worth getting both.
The real life benefit of the standard Arrow is it is more reliable and cheaper per hour to run.
In game I suppose the only real benefit is you cannot over boost the engine (though you can always turn the damage off in the turbo I suppose) though the package price makes it tempting just to add another plane to your hanger.
The package deal is good value if you have the standard Arrow, however if you were going to be paying full price for TWO different JF Piper addons the Warrior + Turbo Arrow would make way more sense.
It was explained earlier by JF - the Bundle is mainly made for Marketplace and for having the option of dicsount for P3D bundle owners.
Buying the normal Arrow first and then the discounted Turbo is totally intended to be the cheapest option.
And the different performance, so if you want to have variations in the performance numbers, just to get you to learn a slightly different way of flying with the normally aspirated version, it might be worth spending the ~11€ on top (if you go the cheapest way to get both).
