New Release: Lionheart Creations Quickie Q-200

simMarket: LIONHEART CREATIONS - QUICKIE Q200 MSFS

This looks interesting. I will probably be picking this up in a bit. Will post the usual pictures and first impressions.

The quickie q200 should be solid, if Lionhearts last release -the Trinidad - is anything to go by. Dev is responsive as well, which is always good. This plane is just a bit too odd for.my tastes and im not quite sure which niche it would fill in my hangar

Yeah, Bill does pretty decent stuff
I like the Trinidad. This one is weird, which is why it kinda really appeals to me. I also know he is gonna put more work into it because he always does. He really wants his stuff to be good and Trinidad has come SO FAR.

First Flight in the New Toy.

I’m currently waiting to see if Just Flight will have it. It wasn’t listed when I checked an hour ago.

Bill, if you are reading this, the background pic on the installer still says “Trinidad TB21”

What an odd looking bird. Sort of a bi-plane layout just staggered weirdly and with the wing struts acting as a lower wing. Wonder how that affects handling. Looking forward to reading some impressions on it.

This is pretty fun
but it still needs a couple of things.

GRAPHICS: Nice-looking bird, tons of liveries to choose from, both internal and external model look fine to me. Nothing to worry about here. The TINT option on the glass doesn’t really seem to have any effect for me.

SOUND: I don’t believe there is a sound for opening/closing the canopy, but otherwise, it sounds lively. Passable-sounding bird

SYSTEMS/FLYING: It flies and trims out nicely, no issues on takeoff and landing. Transponder display is dead. Nothing I did could make it work. Cold and dark start didn’t work for me - Battery on, fuel pump on, NAV lights on, avionics on, throttle an inch open, magnetos both, starter turns the engine over, but doesn’t catch on. Not sure what’s going on here. Autopilot follows NAV nicely, holds altitude if you want it to. I can’t really seem to make it activate the VS mode though.

OVERALL: This is fun if you are into obscure racing type planes. I’d like to see the issues ironed out though.

Considering the Rutan DNA in its lineage , its not surprising its an odd bird

Also
where is this manual? I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the install folder or anywhere else.

From the main Lionheart website: Q200_MSFS_Owners_Manual.pdf - Google Drive

Thinking of buying this too, loving the TB21.

Cool, thank you for that. Would be nice if it’s included with the installation - just stick it in the main aircraft folder.

he mentioned in the store that it was available so people can make a more informed purchase decision . unfortunately, he didnt mention where to find it

“I have created a nice manual for it that you can download and read before purchase to make sure you would be happy with her. This cool manual features a lot of screenshots and notes with arrows pointing to the various systems and lights and knobs and bits, explaining how everything works, the hidden features you do not always find, and even the basics of how to fly it.”

So.. reading the manual. It doesn’t mention whether the plexiglass tint option affects the INTERNAL view or just EXTERNAL. Hence me saying “I haven’t noticed any effect”
 I also see in the screenshots that the transponder is working but in my test flight it wouldn’t light up no matter which setting I turned the knob to.

I think I had some difficulty on landing, bounced up high after touchdown and crashed. I’d better study the manual first.
And the transponder does not work.

I didn’t have issues, I approached at near-stall speed of 65 knots and flared up for landing. When I touched down, the stall alarm was sounding. Try that. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one with the broken transponder.

I’ve known Bill for a long time. He’s extremely devout in his faith and somewhat conservative everywhere else. He also has an interest in some more exotic propulsion theories.

from the manual–If you hit hard on your main gear, your plane will hop as you bump the wings upwards, facing her up. that me

I had the payware version of the Fairchild 24 that came in a pack along with a Pasped Skylark, Piper Super Pacer and Wittman Tailwind for FSX. All very nice birds and that Lionheart Creations Classics Fleet Ultra-Pack was a bargain.

I’m quite tempted to get this one. Might wait on some bugfixes and a few more reviews though as I’m quite interested in the flight model. Something with that wing layout must have some interesting flight characteristics!

I can’t get the window tint to change either, from inside or out. Can others check? If it works for you, what do you see?
