I flew both today and long story short is I far prefer the Cri Cri in most ways still, but the SubSonex has some potential. I was able to start it (the Cri Cri) by opening the fuel lever, cracking the throttles, turning on the battery and hitting the starters. I’m gonna message ATSim and see if there’s a chance they’ll push out an update for this now that they have competition for it, so to speak. I’d love to see them add smoke (there’s a smoke switch on the panel, it’s begging for it) and tune some of the FM quirkiness (for instance its tendency to come to a screeching halt practically if you’re at anything under 105%+ RPM). I love the way the Cri Cri feels but it’s goofy in its own ways, as is the JSX-2.
Those avionics in the JSX-2 are… messy, though it is cool that they are implementing something custom.
Fun fact, this was how i introduced myself to Blender, and develloping for MSFS. It was supposed to be freeware, but i discontinued the project to pursue other avenues

So far, I get an instant CTD when I flip on the avionics with the Honeycomb Alpha yoke, OR when I use the mouse to turn on the avionics. It’s obvious that this isn’t the case for other people since no one else has said anything about it, but I’ve tried 3 times now, and get an instant CTD when I attempt to turn on the avionics. Everything is fine so long as I leave the avionics off, and I’m not experiencing any issues with any other aircraft…
I’m not asking for advice, I’m just stating my experience thus far.
Look in the brakes section of the systems.cfg and see if there’s an issue there.
Plane seems interesting but that video makes me want to delete the internet.

I agree those promotional video’s trying to be way too slick, I think just showcasing the aircraft and let us hear the engine sounds would be much more appreciated by potential buyers.

If I recall correctly SubSonex does not have a parking brake. The handle on the left side of the center pedestal are the brakes which, by the way, are not differential. The brakes should be actuated by hand pulling the lever back. Kind of weird but that’s the way it is.
Lovely little plane. Despite a couple of flaws here and there, I liked a lot. Makes me want to wear a helmet and oxygen mask while flying.

If you want to change the MGL screen to G3X in order to have a map you can change PANEL.CFG. look for htmlgAuge00 and change as follows:

Just purchased the JSX-2. Before it, I flew (in Sim) the jet Cri Cri mostly. I will leave all the technicals to the experienced pilots…but as to the pure fun factor, this will likely be my main flyer for a while. It handles superbly. It is a lot less twitchy than the Cri Cri for sure. (I almost fainted trying to land the jet Cri Cri in VR the first time)
In VR (Oculus Quest 2) it is an absolute delight! I was really curious after having seen it on a few aircraft related youtube channels.
Now I am going to get back in the cockpit!

Since Skydolly has this formation feature, I´m trying to find the best plane for an aerobatic team.
MB-339 comes to mind but I feel the JSX will suit my needs better. At least for me it´s a lot easier to stay in formation.
But there is something that bothers me.
Have a look at the screenshot. There are 7 JSX parking on the apron and they all are smoking.
I don´t want to see 7 JSX on the ground and I don´t want to see them burning
They are no SkyDolly instances. They seem to be some kind of AI traffic.
Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of them ???
I bought this (even though I said I wasn’t buying any more, I blame BostonJerermy
). I really like it, but please dev if you are reading this, try and improve the avionics suite or if possible allow the WT Stuff as a toggle or something.

In the aircraft.cfg set all:
isAirTraffic=1
to
isAirTraffic=0

In the description on Simmarket it says Garmin version coming soon.
Probably a G3X so then it can run WT fine.
Wow
That helped.
Thank you very much
Cheers and all the best

That does look pretty cool! Reminds me of any of the big jet teams testing their smoke before taxing out for take off for their routine.

I’m having trouble with takeoffs and landings. It starts bouncing like crazy I suspect due to the small wheels. Any tips?
I’m having the same challenge with landings, not so much on takeoffs though.
I seemed to get down okay, but once I slowed down enough it started bouncing like a superball.
I don’t get it. I reinstalled this aircraft, removed everything from my community folder, and I still can’t use it. As long as I keep the avionics off, everything works fine…but as soon as I turn on the avionics, the sim crashes. This is the only aircraft that this is happening with. I’ve been otherwise totally crash free. The part I don’t get is why I’m the only one experiencing this…
I was struggling at first but found that for me I need to basically try to hover just above ground at stall speed and once going slow enough (about 60kts works for me) the plane should settle more gently. Also try gradually increasing flaps while above runway. I found that slows me a bit more and allows me to just slip it down smoothly onto the runway. Due to size and the centre of gravity it seems that you need to be a bit softer on landing than would in a Cessna.
I’d not say the JSX-2 is hard to land, but that’s once got a few good landings under your belt. I’d suggest finding a nice long runway where there isn’t much traffic/ built up area (Homey/Area 51 is a real good option for this in my experience) and just do some circuits/ touch and goes (with a few meters rolling to ensure put the plane down right) and you will have the plane mastered!
Saying that. I do hope may be a few tweaks on how the plane lands as we have seen with other planes. I remember the F-15 having a horrible bounce to it when I first got it but is much better now. I’d also love it if they can get the parachute to work. I think that would be really cool!
