Hi @Player718545417 & welcome to the forums!
Whilst many may consider it rather unusual for someone to cut big pieces of cloth into small pieces only to sew them back together to make big pieces again, please remember that your wife only has your best interests in mind. In an emergency, a very large quilt makes an excellent parachute as long as you remember to hold onto the four corners as you exit your aircraft!
Flying in MSFS is great fun, as you may already have found out, but configuring your hardware to get the optimal flying experience can be a bit of a challenge at times.
Depending on what you need assistance with, we have a User Support Hub category - where you can post in the sub-category that matches your issue:

Fly safe!
Hello everyone
I am 57 years old, my name is Frédéric. I am a former airline pilot and I have been using flight simulator since fs4. I have the boxed version of MSFS 2020 and I play on PC with a 10700k processor and an RTX 3070 ti video card. By the way, excuse my bad English, I am French

Fly Safe!
HI, I just signed up, I used to play back in the Atari 8-bit days⊠lol I havenât had FS since, Iâm on Xbox X, I was just going to buy FS this past weekend, but then I see where 2024 is coming out in Nov. Arrggg so Iâm not going to spend 120.xx for FS to just have the new one come out in a few months. I was kinda disappointed was really wanting to play. Have been checking out the youtube videos and all, and even have a Thrustmaster T-Flight Full Kit sitting in my Amazon cart. Kinda bummed now Iâll have to wait.

Hi @KenDawg73 & welcome to the forums!
FYI, an alternative to purchasing MSFS 2020 outright at this point would be to play the Sim via a Gamepass subscription:
Microsoft Flight Simulator | Xbox
Then, when MSFS 2024 is released, you could either end your subscription & purchase 2024, or continue to use Gamepass.
Iâve never used Gamepass, so do not know all the details of the service, but it might be something you might want to check out.
Hope this idea helps you get into the air!

A quick search of Logitech rudder pedals netted this.

Hi, I am Frank and using MSFS for 3 weeks now. I am Dutch, so if my english is bad, sorry in advance, lol.
I was using FSX for years and finally made the jump on a very new but very basic PC. I must say the changeover to MSFS was shocking. The graphics are stunning but the handling was totally different and at first I felt completely helpless. It took me hours to find how to set all the options, for example the views, instruments etc. AndI I still think it is dissapointing that in MSFS you canât really unbox the instruments like you could in FSX.
But no regrets here, MSFS is wonderful and runs smoothly even on my very very basi system
I am running MSFS on the PC version ( [Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard 40th Anniversary Edition). As I said my system is very basic:
Windows 11 Pro, Intel Core I5-9500, GTX-1060 6Gb graphics card and 32 Gb RAM. On a 300 Watts power supply. Amazingly simple but it runs smoothly on average settings with around 60 FPS. I actually measured the power usage and it never exceeds 110 Watts!
I bought a Saitek/Logitech Flight Yoke Pro system with throttles just a few days ago (before I used the Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X) and it works great.
Still need to adjust to all the different settings (there are really so much setting to set , lolâŠ) but I love it. And I purchsed the PMDG Boeing 737 just like I had on FSX. It works great. I love the inbuild EFB and the integration with Simbrief and now I am considering a Navigraph subscription although so far I manage pretty good with Little Navmap, such a nice program to use because you can actually follow your flight on the map and program the flight easily, and load into the flight computer since you can export the flightplan to MSFS format.
When I started simming I actually started with the big jets: the Boeing 737 and 747. Now in MSFS I started with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. A huge difference but I like it since you can enjoy the scenery so much more. But the Garmin G1000 was new to me and had to learn to program it from scratch. Thank you Youtube!!!
Ok this was my introduction. I am a flightsimmer since ages, lol. And I still love it. Right now I am considering flying online but I really hesitate to make that jump since it still seems very complicated in terms of ATC communication, changing navigation etc . I will be an absolute beginner and 'nobodyâat first but maybe I will give it a try. If anyone out here has any suggestions about online flying I would really appreciate that!
Thanks to all, and happy flying!!!
Frank.
Hallo Frank,
Welcome to the forums and thank you for your introduction. Iâm Dutch as well Happy to hear that you enjoy MSFS and have a smooth experience even though you donât have a high-end system!
If you want to fly online, I think VATSIM is the way to go but that could maybe feel a bit overwhelming if youâve never done it before. You could of course watch a lot of content on Youtube/Twitch of people that are flying VATSIM already to get used to it.
The way I learned it was through an online (Dutch) flying group. We had some group flight together and at a certain point I just jumped in VATSIM. It wasnât as scary as I thought it would be and itâs not that difficult either!
If you want to know more about it you can always DM me!
Happy flying!
@LoadedPompano5 Welcome to the forums!
