News for SU15

WASM works both on PC and Xbox. However, it only seems to be problematic on Xbox at the moment (WASM takes up lots of memory and MS is looking for ways to reduce memory usage. That seems to have affected WASM).

You can install the beta if you want to try it

Wonder what adobe has to do with MSFS

I think, these last minute updates and dozens of apologies over the past 4 years highlight the huge gap between us and comminty.

We don’t love it either. Our goal is to always communicate with you as soon as possible when we find out information that affects the whole community. Sometimes we are able to hit that target and sometimes not, due to many different circumstances. Heard, though.

I had to go back a re-read what I wrote lol. I got a good laugh.

I imagine a lot of people are waiting for that day for this update of SU15 but like me too but otherwise it’s important to have ice in the stomach, I’d rather wait until real testing by the mircrosoft team so that it works the basis because this game is so complete advanced complex system that I noticed since I owned this version of msfs 2020

I am already curious what the reason for the next delay will be after we waited another month or so.

Like I said in another thread, June before we see SU15 unless they break something else.

Personal Comments and Observations

June would be…problematic…for the many third-party vendors who plan to attend FSExpo and have products in queue awaiting release that need SU15 to be in production. I use the term ā€œproblematicā€ conservatively.

So that’s the prove that all delays are not due to INI and the A320neo

If May, no earlier than the 28th likely. Foresee a couple more betas.

I may jump back in on .17 to see what the DX12 tweaks are. Hit all those places I have two 3rd party airports in the same view.

On XB SU14 was pretty tortuous, on PC it muscles through it, but do get those pop in/drop in freezes, and it goes right back to high FPS, would like to see if they smoothed that out.

It all boils down to how soon they can find and fix the Stuttering. If the cadence is fast, then a 14th .18 is possible. Otherwise, it adds at least another week.

Then hope there’s nothing else to show-stop.

With the delay being official now, could the MSFS team at least allow iniBuilds A320neo livery packs to be released onto the MS store for all us beta testers??? It would be great given that it’s been a while with just a few liveries and would love to have some more opportunities for realistic flights for testing the aircraft

OMG NO! Not more variables entering an already topic overloaded beta. Please nothing new to test or confound our testing, thank you.

The most popular aircraft in that survey was the Fenix… which isn’t available on Xbox so that tells us just how skewed towards PC it was.

There isn’t half some impatience in the MSFS community. It’s almost as though it’s impossible to enjoy the sim till SU15 drops!

Re Xbox, bear in mind that we probably wouldn’t be getting FS2024 if it weren’t for buoyant MSFS console sales.

Indirectly it is. The WASM issue caused the A320 to not work at all in testing (from what the beta threads said), which then was found to not work on any WASM planes. The fact that the A320 is linked with SU15, it forces Asobo/Microsoft to have to get it right from the jump rather than fix it in a later bug fix.

I’m personally happy with this news though for two reasons.

  1. I know that this update isn’t just being rolled out and forcing us to deal with major stuttering other issues that plagued the sim since SU13.

  2. I have more free time in the summer so will get to enjoy the sim more rather than try to find time this month for short flights.

I don’t understand why so much delay all this for xbox if microsoft is not capable of solving a problem it should review its dev team because the two times it is pushing back it becomes big no matter what

honeslty. Release it for PC and fix xbox later
