What gives.. The latest update really messed up my night lighting. It looks like all the street lights are 1,000 feet above the ground and even offset. At first I thouht it was simply reflections, but then I saw there were no lights below.
It is a mystery why thilngs that aren’t broken become broken.
I do not look forward to these updates any longer.
Sadly another known issue post release - Unless you are lucky to run at 100% rendering like I do you will have night lighting issues. Another amazing whiff by the quality people at Asobo…
Yeah, my day is way improved but they ruined my night lighting. Oculus Rift is showing a floating layer of lights if you bank hard left and look left, you can see it. No ground lighting really. It was way better a few updates back. But now it just looks terrible at night. But performance is the best Ive ever seen.
So they’ll say it’s not their problem it’s your problem because you didn’t set the rendering to 100 %. Just like so many other bugs which they presume it’s all your fault but not their and problem solved!
This really sucks. I’ve been trying to have patience with Asobo but this takes the cake. I say stop trying to release all these new sceneries and airports etc and just concentrate on getting the sim to work right!!!
Are you listening Asobo!!!
“Developers are aware of the issue” should replace “The Sky is Calling” as this title’s tagline. Having said that in good humor, I’ve not had any night lighting issues so far. I was just noticing how nice it looks above the clouds.
The night lighting is all messed up after this last update! I’m really disappointed with this simulator, especially after the 100,00$ I paid for the premium deluxe version. The sim is plenty of bugs, the aircraft dynamics are unrealistic, the behavior of aircraft on take-off and landing is totally ridiculous, not to mention the handling and maneuvering of aircraft on the ground. More than one year after the release of MSFS this Sim is far from being satisfactory. I’m glad that I did not remove FSX Steam Edition from my desktop!
I’ll keep this short and sweet. The reason this is happening is because:
Asobo is in WAY over their heads with this project and they have yet to develop regression testing that catches these issues before they go to production.
Asobo inherited a monstorous mess of a codebase and they are still learning what is wired to what.
