Brief description of the issue:
After the latest update, unable to load flight, stuck at loading screen, tried reinstall.
The solution is change language for non-unicode programs setting from zh_CN to EN-US
Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
language for non-unicode programs setting is zh_CN, not EN-US
The problem is that changing the settings is not a good solution for zh_CN Windows User.
In the Language setting for Windows 10 there is one for Apps & Websites (this is different than your native language setting). Do have the US English installed?
I just did a test and it doesn’t work, Manually delete CustomFlight and click FLY button, the loading bar will still be stuck. I still need change language for non-unicode programs setting to EN-US to play normally.
language for non-unicode programs setting without EN-US has always caused problems since MSFS release, the Developer can easily reproduce this problem, please fix it as soon as possible. Thank you!
I am also a Chinese user. I find turn Bing maps off in Options->Data will solve the loading-stuck problem though you get awful ground textures. But you can fly that way.

Thanks for posting this! I’ve been looking for a solution for the stuck flight loading for several days and finally found this post.
While the solution is not ideal as you suggested, at least we have 2 options to fly - change non-unicode to EN or disable Bing maps.
