Yep i see alot of people with high end pcs having issues as for my self my system running super smooth man
Hello, I had the same issues, and i think I figured out the solution.
My thread.
I also have a nvidia graphics card. I recently downloaded the newest driver (may 15th update) and that is what, eventually, broke my game.
I reverted to a driver I remember getting best performance to my PC, and now I have none of these issuesā¦for a bit.
Then i was experiencing it with my changes, so I disconnected my bluetooth mouse, everything worked again. I reconnected my mouse, and it was fine. Every now and then Iāll experience the degredation, but i just disconnect and reconnect my bluetooth mouse and everything works.
Itās so weird, and I canāt even explain, but try reverting back your driver, and Iām sure things will go back to normal.
Do the typical stuff:
Clean out community folder, retest
Game mode off
HAGS off
Windows updates? All complete
Windows store updates? All complete
Clear cache
Check paging file sizes
.net framework ok?
I have a 9700k and a 3070 but used to have a 2070 and sim runs smooth. Not as fast as my brand new build but it does just fine.
My new build was a nightmare of fixes.
Something that may be to note is that until yesterday I had overclocked my CPU to 5ghz, but noticed temps getting too high when running AIGTC, so I decided to reset to default clock speeds, Iām now getting better frames and no longer getting CPU spikes nearly as much, resulting in a more fluid and consistent sim. I am averaging 35-40 FPS with a DSR resolution of 2880x1620 on a 1080p TV, The sim looks and feels amazing now, with a mix of high/ultra settings, AIG running and a very large community folder.
Seems to be a problem with SU9. Me and 374 other users in this thread have more or less the same problem.
That doesnāt make any sense. I used to play just fine. Hadnāt updated any drivers. My Nvidia drivers are from September 2021. There is no point in updating drivers on an almost 3 generation behind GPU (2017). I used to play just fine until the past weekend (21/22-5-2022). Then suddenly I got this problem and it start almost imediatle after take-off. On the ground it feels OK even though I see some GPU usage dips to ~50%±10-20%. But once I get airborne the game becomes unplayable for me. If it is internet related I donāt know. All I know it started out of nowhere.
I have just done some testing in the sim and can confirm there is a problem with photogrammetry and performance on my system at least. If I turn photogrammetry off at KSEA seattle I can ramp up terrain LOD to 250 without any performance impact, this is with Object LOD at 200. AS SOON as I turn photogrammetry back on my performance absolutely tanks at those settings, turn it off and back to great performance. This didnāt used to be the case. To use photogrammetry I have to reduce LOD sliders to 100 on both. Iāve tried with rolling cache on and off and that doesnāt seem to make a difference.
This was with a fully overcast sky too.
Anyone else wish to confirm that performance improves with photogrammetry off, that have been having problems in this thread?
I have been reading the photogrammetry thread which got me to trying this out. Something has changed in SU9 in think to cause this.
Iām gonna join this topic because my performance decreases massively at some point during my flights. It is barely playable at the end of a short flight and it is absolutely impossible to do medium or long flights. I really donāt know what to do, since the performance is great at the beginning and just randomely gets worse over time.
I already tried some tips I could find on the internet like turning off live traffic or multiplayer or even disabling the NDU in the registry but nothing seemed to solve the issue. It is really frustrating by now since I canāt really end a flight because the game becomes to laggy to perform a proper landing. Changing the ingame settings wasnāt really helpful either and doesnāt really seem necessary since I got great performance at the beginning of every flight.
My specs are: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: RTX 3070
Have Asobo changed some of the coding with this Maverick update? Because today Iām no longer main thread limited and my CPU cores are really very well balanced now, Plus GPU is hanging at around 80-85% load. This wasnāt the case yesterday before I updated. Another plus is that There is NO degradation when I pop out the TBM PFD and MFD to my tablets. Iām maintaining rock solid 30fps at 2880x1620 at 100% render scale.
Either that or the update to windows 11 yesterday has made a vast difference.
I was able to reduce the stuttering by setting offscreen terrain pre-caching back to Ultra. The sim is kinda playable now, I took the risk and bought the PMDG 737 now lol.
Maybe the little update to the sim also changed something as TingedTundra said.
I have the same issue. With photogrammetry on I will lose about 30% fps. Turn it off and they come back. This happens even when I am flying in areas without any photogrammetry.
I see the same effect if I delete photogrammetry from the world updates too.
I am currently doing a world tour and oddly I didnāt have the issue until I crossed into USA airspace from Central America.
I also see fps tank further in landing if photogrammetry is on.
I wonder if this is a 2080 Nvidia issue? I have the same problems, on a brand new Aurora R9, with very similar spec. (I have two 2080ti)
make sure volanta isnāt on - thatās been causing me some problems lately
