There is a known issue with sim rate. Is that what you are experiencing ?: Global Time Not Progressing at the Increased Sim Rate

It is different from FS2020.

Doesn’t seem to work in FS2024.

Edit:
It does work.
But, pressing the Sim Rate control does nothing.

Just press the Increase or Decrease Sim Rate control.

I remapped the key to ctrl= which then worked fine

With FS2024 transversal, the default binding is ALT+R and with FS2020 transversal R
Once you press those bindings, you also need to click on + or - as explained in the description.
Nothing will happen if you only press ALT+R or R (or the key bind you’ve setup)

Yes, I also found that the time rate did not change

So the issue you are reporting is the same than this one ?: Global Time Not Progressing at the Increased Sim Rate

Pressing the Sim Rate control does nothing.

Just press the Increase or Decrease Sim Rate control.

Not quite the same. Pressing this simulation rate should pop up a window showing the current simulation rate and selectable rates.

If you click the gear icon for the Sim Rate binding and change the Input Value number, does it have any effect?

Was wondering if ‘1’ would effectively reset it, which sounds too good to be true. Realise it wouldn’t match the description, but dont think that would be too surprising.

Would test it myself but am away.

Is that what you think is meant to happen and it’s failing to work correctly (which would be different from how it worked in 2020, so surprising) or what you would like to happen (a feature request)?

To be clear here’s how it worked in 2020:

  • press the sim rate binding button (R) to select the sim rate for manipulation
  • press the +/- bindings (+ and - buttons on keyboard or knob on Honeycomb Bravo or other device) to double or halve the sim rate
  • nothing at any point appears on screen!

In 2024 I noticed there are also “increase sim rate” and “decrease sim rate” bindings which immediately change the sim rate without messing with selecting the active input for manipulation (which is nice as it no longer messes with my autopilot inputs). I recommend binding these; I use [ and ] keys.

The program does not allow it to be changed from 0.00.

Moved to User Support Hub since does not seem a bug but more likely a misunderstanding on this functionality.
