VRAM improvements or not, I’m still hitting 16.1GB used (out of 16 total
) on first load with the PMDG 737-800. It quickly drops to 15.something, stabilizing around 15GB in the flight deck, and 14GB outside. That’s with BATC traffic using AIG, JustFlight and FSLTL model matching (in that priority). Performance is fine after the first 20 seconds or so, but whew - I need the AI bubble to pop and GPUs with 24GB+ to become the new standard, lol.
Man this is an amazing airport! I really love it so far. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to smooth out the stutters or fps drop in areas?!
Even after latest update I get them. I am on a 19-13900k+ RTX ROG 4090+ 64gb RAM. TLOD 200 and OLOB is 130.
I use BATC traffic and fly the fenix primarily. I get these airports are demanding but this is the toughest one for me hahah it pushes my system to the limits for sure. Either way looks amazing maybe more optimizations will come!

You ain’t pushing all sliders to the right correct? I’m using a 4080 Super 4K. VRAM was around 12-13gb no frame gen and while sacrificing some settings.
Just installed the update. I feel like stutters are improved, but they’re still there. Did 3 or 4 landings in the pattern and none at touchdown.
I see them start around 1600’, but I’ll admit atleast from my initial testing, they were tolerable. Base performance is still great for me - solid 117 fps.
I still think there is room for improvement but I think we are headed the right direction. Now we just need Matteo to figure out this terrain stuff. Watching the terrain transform on final is annoying along with floating lights and bumpy taxiways.
Absolutely not. I have a 16GB 4070 Ti Super. My settings are TLOD/OLOD both at 200, texture resolution of High, most of the rest of the settings, clouds on Ultra, most of the rest are a mix of high and ultra. I also cap my frames at 30 fps + 2X DLSS frame gen for 60fps locked, and Dynamic enabled in the sim. That initial “overload” is concerning to me and I don’t generally see that in other high-load sceneries including Ini’s DFW, Flightbeam’s SFO, etc. But it did not trigger a sim resource warning so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just did another test. This time with airliners and it’s definitely not the best compared to other payware airports . PMDG 737-7 26fps sitting on rwy then jumps to 40 moving the camera away from the terminal.

All my test was done without FG.
New update released. Looks fantastic at sunset. Definitely one of the very best looking airport addons I’ve got.
This one went from a Day One purchase to maybe at some point down the road. I’m just surprised that, given the extremely long development period, the stutter issue wasn’t caught and addressed in Beta. Now we watch the dev desperately releasing fix after fix to try to resolve the problem. Hope it works out…
Well I can’t speak for others, but I don’t really see any stutters here to speak of. If I go to drone camera and elevate above my spawn location outside the aircraft, then rotate the camera in place 360 degrees, I will see a quick hitch at about 180 degrees. Thing is, I see the same even at MK Studios’ much smaller and simpler Key West. I think stutters or hitches like that are more attributable to SU5/SU5.1 Beta than the scenery.

The more and more I fly in and out of this airport, the less I’m enjoying it. I said earlier the stutters have improved, but still not enough to my personal satisfaction. The ground is absolutely abysmal when taxiing around and while I understand Matteo’s opinion that Asobo is to blame for this, it doesn’t change the fact that for me as the customer, it’s completely annoying. Visually, the airport looks fine to me, but I’m just having less enjoyment each time I fly in and maybe it’s because I’m seeing more and more of these details that are bugging me.
Still performs very poorly. Fenix A320 test and my fps was single digits and I am not kidding! Everywhere I am in the 40s-50s!
Restarted the game and the fps is back to normal in the early 40s. What on earth is going on with this sim?? ![]()
Unfortunately, I can’t disagree. After a few more landings, I have to say that, overall, the performance is worse for me than at any of the other major hubs I own. And yes, some of the bumps on the taxiways are too severe to ignore. It’s a real shame, because visually, I still think the airport is fantastic. I can only hope for further updates.
I was on the verge of buying it. Then decided against it after reading this thread. I’ll wait and hope an update or two resolves the issues.
