Now waiting for Hotfix 2

What problem do you have with the throttle of the TBM?

I’m flying it, if I can help you

No. This was fine until SU5 - there are a number of changes in the world map, that’s just one of them.

This will never be fixed until I can fly the FBW 320NX mod from Havana to FLL… without crashing..

My only wish to add is: Transfer the Flight Simulator franchise to competent people, take it away from Asobo

Fix the scenery and detail popping in
Fix the reduced draw distance
Fix the clouds, they look flat and cartoonish, the color is off now too, they lack the detail from before SU5
Fix the outlines on trees and scenery and shadows that didn’t used to exist
Fix the live weather
Fix the Vatsim altitude problem (if it wasn’t fixed in this last hotfix)

Hey Crunch, I couldn’t use the throttle on the TBM either then found out it just needs a tickle with the mouse and then it works fine from there. That’s on my Bravo, which I think you have. YMMV.

And I’m seeing plenty of live traffic both on the map and internal/external cockpit views. Quite a bit actually.

But very sad that even with every single setting on Ultra, the graphics are underwhelming to say the least.

Edit: WT has a new update to the G3000 mod and it works fine 0.7.4.

There is a hard limit of how many other active aircraft the sim is showing (I think 30).

First priority have multiplayer aircraft up to a certain distance which is quite big, if you have multiplayer on.
If multiplayer aircraft don’t fill the 30 slots (or multiplayer is disabled), then the remaining slots are filled by AI/realtime traffic.

So if you want to see AI/realtime traffic in an area where there’s many multiplayer aircraft, you have to disable multiplayer (or choose a server with less multiplayer aircraft in your area) to free up the slots for AI/realtime.

That’s the way the sim has been dealing other aircraft since release.

Yeah, I manage to get it working with the mouse as well. But with this issue plus Mugz’ mod not working, I’m really not enjoyng the TBM as much right now.

I’ve been having a blast with the WT CJ4 though. Never was able to fly it before SU5 without dropping to 10 fps. Runs nice now. And been using the Longitude to get around my G3000/5000 withdrawl.

Like many others I haven’t posted here before, but this farce has prompted me to add my disappointment.

This is a game that has been out a year. Even before this update it had fundamental flaws (hence the update), but instead of fixing them, they’ve broken the game, so now we’ll be waiting months to get back to where we were, if we even get there. How long do some expect us to just keep being patient?

  • I can’t see live traffic now, the planes are on the map, but nowhere to be seen represented as actual objects in the game.
  • abysmal popping up, bridges appearing as I fly over them, city buildings looking like bombed out shells as others have said. Between this and the lack of other planes, the immersion is completely gone.
  • weather/temperature/atc bugs that are just basic stuff that needs to work.
  • CTDs, which make a game of this time basically unplayable if you can’t be sure you’ll finish your flight, though some here seem to think they’re no biggie which I really don’t understand.
  • The spoiler lever doesn’t move when I select spoilers up or down with the controller, how basic is this?!
  • FMC and autopilot bugs…

The amount of basic stuff that still doesn’t work or has just been broken and there’s people here saying after a YEAR ‘don’t worry they’ll get to it’. Will they? There’s almost nothing in this sim that doesn’t require some kind of workaround on my part and that is just not acceptable. That such basic things are still not working says to me the studio is just out of its depth and doesn’t really understand either what the product is, or how to deliver it. I’m sure there are great people working there trying their best and I don’t blame them, they’ve been handed a task they never should have been.

I really doubt this sim will ever be in a state where I can reliably go in and do what I want to do with it, and use all the features that were promised, which is just sad. I know it’s a huge complex project, but that’s all the more reason you needed to choose the right studio, the best would find this difficult and I don’t think Asobo were ever best suited to this job. The fact ATC behaves in exactly the same way as FSX, with the same contradictory instructions when making an approach over high terrain tells me all I need to know about how this game was made.

The only solution I’m afraid is probably going to be waiting for a competing game, really this is probably a lost cause that needs building again from scratch.

I don’t see any live traffic now even with other traffic turned off, it’s on my map, but there is not a plane on the sky.

It’s better as I don’t get many you’re above or below assigned altitude but the temperatures are high I had to turn live weather off at cruise altitude to climb and burn fuel efficiently. I’ll turn it back on as I descend below FL180

All of that just serves to highlight how complex the program is and what a difficult challenge it is to make changes and improvements without affecting something else.

As for delaying the road map, it’s far quicker for them to release updates and get user feedback from thousands of players than having to detect all these issues ahead of time.

Whenever they make an update I expect there to be a few teething issues and for them to patch it back up shortly. I don’t really see the big deal to be honest.

Mine was crashing since the SU5 launch so could only fly today post hotfix. Now it flies well but like everybody else I’m experiencing the LOD pop in and slightly strange colour saturation. I’m not fussed though, they will work on it and give us a roadmap for fixing at the next developer Q & A.

It’s a ten year development plan, I enjoy the journey, including the odd bump and setback.

Now that I don’t CTD every 5 minutes.

Garmin in both TBM and Cessna 172 inject a waypoint “TIME” regardless of flight planned in the NAV frontend. Doesn’t show up when you look at the full flight plan, only as the first waypoint, even has a bearing and distance if you wanted to fly to “TIME”.

Plan a flight from A to B, add waypoint C → flight plan per Garmin is now A->B->C->B

Maybe the testers will find these regressions this weekend because the developers sure couldn’t

I’m really curious what their test plans look like.

Clouds are like white paint brushes. The main reason to come to msfs was ultra graphics, considering xplane now.
