NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 572.16

I got better results with the new driver.
It’s interesting to see the difference between people who get better with the new driver and those who don’t.
I can’t see any trends in the PC specs you all write sometimes.
I’ve never seen anyone write whether they use 23H2 or 24H2, so
I’m curious to see if there’s a correlation.
I’m using 23H2. Is this complete nonsense?

Results using FS2020 3060Ti and 5800X3D and switching to Direct X 12

I followed this video and just completed my first short flight and it was very smooth, never noticed any stutters at all, Framerate set at 60 max. ( was set at 40fps)
No problem with NVidia App been using it since release.

The Ghosting on the instruments was slight and acceptable, no problem at all on the FBW 320, those with higher spec machines may not even see it.

Driver version 572.16 and DLSS 310.2.1.0

OverKillSimulations

Window 11 pro 64
Thrustmaster Airbus SideStick & 2 Lever Quadrant
Ryzen 5800X3D SCFM 2000 FUMA2 cooler ( Ectotherm compound )
GIGABYTE RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB GAMING OC Pro
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (DDR4-3200)
Gigabyte 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe
Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE
MSI Optix 3440 x 1440

Most likely, because you have DX12 enabled in your MSFS 2020 settings instead of DX11.

Anyone else lose the ability to rollback drivers through the Nvidia app? Yes DDU is the way but just noticed that button wasn’t there today.

I have been having almost continuous problems with my plane stalling during various stages of flight. I finally figured out that the fuel mixture knob goes to lean, the key turns off and the fuel pump turns off. Do you think this could be from the NVIDIA driver? I have reinstalled countless times. Thx

No this is not due to the driver.

Thanks for the info.

any ideas what it could be? New computer, good upload//download speeds, no community folder, no fancy peripherals, no add ons…???

Most likely a duplicate binding somewhere. I noticed in VR when using the default key mappings for OpenXR Toolkit that the menu navigation was also reducing mixture so had to correct for that so I wouldn’t lose power or cut off the engine.

Why? Because more is better? Because I have a 4k screen?

More pixels is not always better when it comes with a cost of performance.

The best will alwaus be a reasonable balance between detail and performance. Maxing out both is sadly not possible.

If your hardware can handle gaming with TAA, then you don’t really need DLSS.
DLSS is most useful for people with weaker hardware who need extra performance or for VR.

I am going to agree to disagree with that statement. DLSS appears to be superior in some respects compared to TAA with the exception of glass instruments at present. Everything in the outside world as well as the cockpit is much sharper and clearer (except for glass instruments). It also appears that any shimmering experienced with TAA has disappeared when utilizing the latest DLSS.

DLSS and TAA has its pros and cons. Most of the time, we spend in the cockpit and my eyes can’t stand looking at ghosting with DLSS - ghosting is something I simply can’t tolerate.

got a few CTD today. Blue screen, message card overheating etc
After disabeling the nvidia app in the taskbar (exit) it worked again. Think there is a problem with the app and msfs 2024

Ah, yes.

The ghosting is MUCH improved when the DLSS4 ‘K’ preset is set.

Even with K profile, ghosting is still clearly visible, which is why I use TAA.

The ghosting is NOT IMPROVED AT ALL when the DLSS4 ‘K’ preset is set.

Well I suppose each has their own advantages now – eg. DLSSv4 has less moire-fringe artefact / shimmering, less VRAM usage and better framerates at equivalent settings than TAA does.
