Updated to 535.98 from 531.29 and switched back to DX12. WMR VR and a 3080Ti and it seems ok for me for 30 mins, while before it would consistently crash.
Previous driver I was crashing after about 1 hour if I used the Geforce freestyle filters.
So far with 535.98 I’ve been flying for about 1hour 15 mins with filters on and not crashed yet.
Also appears to be running a bit smoother to me (panning left to right with the Honeycomb alpha hat switch was a bit jerky on the previous driver, smooth as silk now )
The last days, both with the latest driver and the one before that, seem to end up with that my GPU VRAM is eaten up, sometimes in the air with very low fps (around 15) OR that I start on ground with the same problem. Ive got 8gb vram, where 7.1 seem avaliable (not sure why, but I think thats normal), but the info given in the devs fps/info-windows is above 8, above to what I have got. So, Im back to DX11 again. The weird thing is that this seems like a new bug to me… =/
I also have 8GB of VRAM, and I’ve never had good luck with DX12 when it comes to managing that VRAM, so I’ve always stuck with DX11 which seems to be better at managing VRAM overruns, especially for those with 8GB of VRAM or less.
So far so good for me. I rarely lasted more than a few mins on DX12 without getting that dreaded error. I’m 40 mins into a flight now with no issue so far. So we’ll see…
Same. I have a 3070Ti. Using DX12 would overprovision VRAM and it would be a stutterfest. Flying on DX12 now and it seems to be behaving so far. Panning around with TrackIR seems smooth for the most part. But occasionally it will stutter and pause for a second or so then go back to normal. That’s still not ideal by any means, but a huge improvement over previous performance under DX12. I’m currently flying the DA62 with both PFD and MFD popped out and getting about 42 fps. Outside of that annoying pause, this is actually pretty good.
I’m not on DX12 but I updated my drivers and everything is running fine. I was a bit nervous at first but I just had to see for myself .
4080 here.
Running well
Again, no issues with this latest driver. Not had to roll back a driver yet. (VR DX12 G2 RTX 3080 12Gb 12700k @5GHz). I hope this one doesn’t disappoint.
Aaaaaannnnnd freestyle filters still cause CTD. What a suprise . In the updated changelog they seemed to have moved it back to known issues, so at least they are aware of that.
