Open the Nvidia App. Select Graphics and then the Game.
Scroll down to DLSS Override - Model Presets
Open the window and you will see this:
That’s how I do it. I no longer use DLSS Swapper. Thankfully.
Thanks both. I will give it a try tomorrow.
Good to know I don’t need to use DLSS Swapper before making the changes in the NVIDIA app!
For that matter I don’t use Nvidia Profile Inspector for anything either.
So it’s just as simple as simple as setting latest for frame gen and preset K for super resolution in the nvidia app?
Yes, in the setting of having a palette of settings that one knows works for one; meaning I had found what is working best for my kind of flying in TAA and gave DLSS/Quality a trial with these same settings on driver 576.52 and I was very pleasantly surprised at the smooth performance DLSS delivered this week as opposed to a few weeks ago with previous drivers. That’s all I am reporting out in this thread, and it may not generalize to folks on 40xx or 30xx GPUs or whose flight sim needs are different than my own. That said, will be interesting to see if others give it a try? Cheers!
Gave it a go with this driver and latest stuff preset K etc using the App.
DLSS Quality is still far too blurry for me in the cockpit.
But DLSS DLAA is just about liveable with a modest increase in performance.
I will have to do some research about the various DLSS modes, I used to use TAA as it looked the best to me.
I also used to use 150 render scaling in MSFS with TAA, but I can’t seem to use that with DLSS, so will have to see if I can increase this somehow.
I suggest searching for TAA vs. DLAA. There are also YouTube videos explaining the differences between TAA, DLSS, DLAA and FSR.
After researching and actually using DLAA, I became convinced DLAA is better than TAA. Of course, any setting always boils down to a user’s preference.
I do give credit to the person on this forum who explained how DLAA and TAA work, and why DLAA is better. That’s what got me started using DLAA.
Good morning. So the SS part of DLSS is Super Sampling, which is probably why render scaling is not available for selection. The DL or Deep Learning part is the AI managing the super sampling problems and anti-aliasing. While NVIDA promotes DLSS as compatible with 30xx and 40xx cards, my guess is that the number of Tensor cores ones card has limits the success of DLSS. (The CUDA cores do the run-of-the mill graphics generation and pixel shading.) Leaving VRAM out of this sidebar as we are all acutely aware of its effect in 2024, as it stands right now.
It seems to me that discussions about DLSS might be better suited for the topic linked below. It looks more appropriate for this kind of conversation:

Hmmm, with all due respect that thread is fairly thin with only a few posts from early February. My purpose here has been to report that with the current driver, 576.52, DLSS/Quality has become a viable option for me, and is the first driver to do so on my PC with the 5070Ti. Agree we don’t want to turn this thread into a generalized discussion of DLSS/DLAA, and yet I don’t want to lose the opportunity to highlight that it is this driver that doing something new and different for my flying, while wondering if others might start seeing this difference too. Could also be a difference constrained to 50xx series cards as well, so that would be interesting to observe as well based on others reports, again only in the context of this particular driver.
RTX5060,MSFS2024,When using DLSSx3 or x4, the game screen freezes, but when I switch to another window, the game screen returns to normal, and when I switch back, it freezes again.
Been using this driver now for a week or so.
No problems whatsoever, respectable frame rates around 50fps with just about everything set to ultra. TLOD 300/OLOD 200. DLSS set to quality, no frame generation, DX11
Windows11
RTX5080
Intel(R) Core™ i9-14900KF 3.20 GHz
64GB Ram
I’ve got a Lenovo Legion i9-13900HX / RT 4090-16 GB / 64GB laptop
My framerate seems fine (I fly GA and warbirds), so I don’t see much point in DLSS?
I was flying along in 2024 (finally trying to figure out how to get it to work for me), and the computer froze solid, plane engine sounds droning on, I couldn’t even get ctrl-alt-del to bring up the menu. So I just rebooted and installed 576.52. (I forgot to check what version was loaded before the crash).
I do have the nVidia App installed. What’s its status of it, should I uninstall it? I only use it to update the drivers.
If you’re only using the NVIDIA App just to update drivers, then honestly, it’s not really necessary - you can uninstall it. I personally don’t use that app at all.
You can always download the latest drivers manually from NVIDIA website.
I was wondering if it’s still causing issues with MSFS?
Yes, it still causes issues with MSFS. If you’re running MSFS 2020 in DX11 mode and have the NVIDIA App installed, you’re likely to get CTD.
It’s an old bug that’s been around since January 2025 and NVIDIA still hasn’t managed to fix it.
I’m not going to explain how to fix it here - I’ve posted it multiple times on the forum already.
Looks like this is the latest? I have 576.40 with a 5080 and crashes the Beta. Filed a bug with the error message. Someone had mentioned a hot fix, assume that applies to another driver.
