Hoping this will fix all the stuttering and pop-in since SU4.

Just had a few flights in VR all looked to work fine.

MSFS 2024 Beta 1.6.34

NVidia game ready driver 591.59 (Express update from a clean install of 581.80)

Virtual Desktop 1.34.14

Hope everyone else finds it problem free.

P.S. FPS between 30-55 (ish) from take off to landing.

Q3 user here…what is your rig mate?

I’m running a 4080Super, 9800x3d, 64GB RAM.

I’m a Q3 newbie…still trying out different settings etc, to get best visuals and performance.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

My graphics card is rtx 3060 12gb monitor 27" 1920x1080 and after switching to 591.59 there is a graphics error, return to desktop.

Just installed and 1h VR flight OK. Trying to fine tune the VR. Hummm main display blinking. Better reboot.

Known bug.

I recommend editing usercfg.opt file and changing DX11 to DX12.

To do this, you need to edit usercfg.opt file and modify the line
PreferD3D12 0

Change the number 0 to 1

and save the changes.

Does this automatically with msfs2020 (after a restart) by selecting dx12 in the PC menu. I guess if you mod the config file it does the same thing without a restart. Cheers.

First of all, the user I replied to cannot launch MSFS 2020 at all, so switching from DX11 to DX12 in the in-game settings is not possible.
Second, any configuration file should be edited only when MSFS is completely closed.

Thanks. Correct, i could not get into FS20 at all.
I ended up reverting back to the older version with a clean install and that set it back to DX12(beta) which then worked after a reset.
Il leave it on this version as im new to pc gaming until i hear there is a patch or some kind of fix.
Just not confident enough to change coding or any idea of where to even start.
But many thanks for the advice.

If you’re going back to an older driver anyway, it’s worth checking the hotfix version too.

An important hotfix related to games and performance, so it can make a real difference.

Also a Q3 user. Do you use VD or LC?
Im via LC and have a few tips for that method

VD…I read somewhere that is the best option….but as I said, I’m definitely no expert.

Any tips for LC would be appreciated, allowing me to do a direct comparison.

I’m on 591.44. Have a Geforce RTX 5090. Should I update to 591.59 ? I don’t use VR

591.59 works better for me on rtx5090, so yes, give it try

Ive sent a DM as its off topic for this thread

I have the same gpu and running 572.7 (I think).

I updated to a 580 version ( not sure which exactly) and caused severe problems which is why I converted back. Not easy when you don’t really know what you are doing.

Which brings me to the question, at what point is updating the drivers no longer valid for older GPU’s like yours and mine.

I use dx 11 in my sim (2020) as dx12 cuts my fps by 2/3 when using pop out panel manager.
