Driver works absolutely fine for me - no different to the previous version.

Still testing here, but I am 99% sure that frame generation is better. I am not looking at 3X and do not see any negative side effects, almost all of the boiling effect is gone, and displays (when not setto the fastest speed) are crisp.

This new driver substantially changes how frame generation and VRR behave in MSFS24. From my initial testing, it looks like the G-Sync + FG issues that led me to recommend switching G-Sync off for the sim are gone. After further testing, I will update here and, if this holds, also adjust my setup recommendation accordingly.

Working well here!

Updated DLSS Swapper, the NVIDIA app, read a bunch of posts and NVIDIA press/release notes.

Upped my game to DLSS 310.5 Performance (from Quality) and Preset M (from K). Quick static test in the 738/24 at Ini’s KFJK looked promising. Will run some errands and start flying this afternoon.

Only for series 50XX right ?

Any advantage for 4090 ?

Pretty sure I read in the above pasted article from users on 40 series cards able to take advantage of this. VR seems to be iffy at the moment.

Can confirm my 3090, VR performance tanked HARD (I don’t play flatscreen so I cant attest to that)

Its is unplayable with single digit FPS with both Presets L & M. Preset L had slightly less stuttering but not playable by any stretch of the imagination. I know NVIDIA has stated that its more designed for 4000 series and above. Just a heads up for those that have 3090 or lower.

I switched back to Preset K and it was smooth sailing again. So driver itself seems good so far.

PC Specs:

For the folks flying VR out there, could it be that MS needs to do something game-side to make VR DLSS 4.5 ready? I seem to recall that making the sim DLSS 4 ready was a big deal last year. Thoughts?

Yeah originally MSFS wasn’t DLSS 4 ready and you had to use DLSS Swapper to force it to work.

For DLSS 4.5 to work currently, you have to opt into the NVIDA APP Beta and override the MSFS DLSS setting contained within the NVIDIA app.

I read that next Driver update, you won’t need the NVIDIA app beta in order to activate 4.5.

Yeah, that part I understand; rather my question is whether MS has to do something to the VR coding in the sim to make VR compatible with DLSS 4.5?

Shame that my 3090 doesn’t support it NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I have to stick with older drivers anyway, anything newer than 538.66 is for RTX 40 series

RTX4070S; Updated Nvidia App to the new Beta version and installed the 591.74 driver. In the App switched DLSS settings to use latest 3D settings. Set DLSS Swapper preset to Always Use Latest. FPS in FS2024 went from 60-66. It is set at my monitor refresh rate of 60Hz. Clarity is probably a little better (very subjective). So far so good. I am also noticing my CPU is processing a little faster. Could it be this?

DLSS 4.5 is said to improve image Quality not performance. I’ll take it.

I have never been one to shout about graphics drivers, but this one is special.

That’s 2x, full ULTRA setting on a 5060Ti at 4k with a totally solid 120 fps. Zero blooming, all sharp. Our 737 loves it.

Yep, I’m liking this one so far. Just been flying my A2A Comanche low and slow over New York and surrounding areas, definitely looking better than I’ve seen it quality wise and smooth as silk performance wise for me. Using a 5060ti (16GB) and a 5700X3D. :+1:

Guys who fly VR - Using MSFS 2020 and currently on 581.80. based on the feedback here, I’m going to download and ddu uninstall / install the latest. Can someone please please please remind me:

What do I need to do in DLSS swapper and in the nvidia profile inspector to get the right dlss version and also the right presets in the profile inspector? Right now, I’m using preset K in the profile inspector.

Here are my current settings:

NPI:

And DLSS swapper:

I’m on a i9-14900k / 4090 / 64gb ram using a quest 2.

Thanks so so much for any advice on the NPI and dlss swapper settings… I really really appreciate it!!

EDIT - ok sorry for all the edits, but I just got a new version of the DLSS swapper… looks like I can choose a preset in this app now. So I guess I don’t have to use the Nvidia profile inspector anymore? Is that right? Thanks again!

This question would fit better in a different thread.

In my second post I shared a link to a more relevant discussion, where we can talk about the new DLSS version.

I’m posting the link again below in case you missed it:
DLSS 4.5 - Reduced ghosting & 6x Frame Generation? - User Support Hub / Install, Performance & Graphics - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

Thank you and yes - I think I found that thread and posted over there. So sorry! And please anyone feel free to delete my messages here. Sorry!
