[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: World Tour Stage 37: Riga to Vilnius

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both the PC and Xbox platforms.

FLIGHT DETAILS

The Community Fly-In Friday World Tour continues!

Picking up in the Baltic states where we left off last time, our flight begins in Riga, Latvia. After departure, we’ll fly on a southbound heading to Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania!

With a rich history dating back nearly 800 years, Lithuania was once part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth which was, at the time, one of the largest and most prosperous nations in Europe. Lithuania also came to international attention in 1990 when it became the first Soviet republic to formally declare its independence from the USSR, a year before the Soviet Union was dissolved.

We will be starting at EVRA. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Cessna 172, CubCrafters X or NX Cub, Pipistrel Virus, Flight Design CTSL, or any aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 110+ knots.

MULTIPLAYER SETTINGS

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Weather	Few Clouds
Time of Day	Daytime

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

Normally I would say: as usual a fun community flight. And it was! But this time, it feels like something more special, going from one era into another. For four years this flight simulator has re-energized my passion for aviation that I had since childhood, with so many community flights, and now we are mere days away from entering a new era of flight simulation…!

Yesterday’s flight left me with mixed feelings that this was the last time the whole Friday fly-in group was on the same sim. It was special but also a little bit sad.

For me, the whole community fly-in experience started a year ago (my first time was the Aviation history month flight on 11.24.2023.) and I really grew fond of it. As someone who will stay on 2020 for a while, I will miss the numerous planes and nameplates during these events, but I will keep attending the Friday events whenever I can and I hope to join the 2024 simmers in the not so distant future!

Wish i could join this fly-in, but i was away yesterday, and i wanted to join in to fly around my country. But i’ll be sure to join if the next one starts from Vilnius.
