ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
It used to work perfectly. But now I cannot save newly created flight plans in MS Flight Planner anymore. Dark “Could not save flight plan” message appears.
Formerly created FPL can be opened, amended and newly ones are saved.
Question1: what is preventing from saving new FPLs?
Question2: were are FPLs saved?
Thanks for your help

Are you referring to the online flight planner or to the in-sim EFB flight planner ?

I think, from the OPs “Dark “Could not save flight plan”” note, the online version. If so, others have experienced this too:

How many flight plans do you have? I ran into the same problem and realized I had exceeded the maximum number of flight plans allowed in the planner. Deleting some old ones let me save a new one. If that’s the case, I really wish they’d increase the limit. I don’t get why it’s set so low, it’s just a string and shouldn’t take up much space on their cloud servers.

Thanks for all your replies!
I have removed all saved FPL, restart, no joy.
Changed browser from Firefox to Edge = works, FPLs can be saved!
Will try to find working settings in Firefox.
Thanks for your help and above all the hint with keyword “browser”

You could also try clearing Firefox’s cache, that could help.

Moved to User Support Hub since OP was able to save flight plans using another browser.

I have cleared all my cookies and cache, deleted all my FPL and tried with both Opera and Firefox, with 2 different computer, and It’s still not working, with any plane

And anyway even If It was the solution I don’t want at all to change my browser (especialy reinstalling the horrible Edge) just for 1 non functionnal website so maybe one of the two topic should be moved to Bug Report section so we can vote… As a lot reported since 17 days in 2 different topic I’m not the only one

It seems your issue is the same than the existing report: Online Flight Planner Intermittently Not Saving Flight Plans, is that correct ?
If so, only 1 report per issue is permitted in the Bug Reporting Hub .

My bad I thought the first topic given here was the only one existing, sorry !

No problem :+1:, feel free to contribute there.

Yes, that is exactly my problem! thanks for this tip!

Title updated to reflect the issue is related to the “online” flight planner.

My problem seems to be solved by clearing the Firefox cache.
Plus I found, that modifying the generated FPL using some Auto functions may also prevent from saving it!
Thanks to everbody!

In my case, I’ve narrowed it down to my apple products. I can save with zero problems on my windows laptop from my home network, but all of my apple products(macbook, ipad and iphone) have this issue. I’ve even tried installing chrome and firefox on them to see if that resolved the issue with no luck.

This started happening to me a couple of days ago. I usually use Firefox on PI OS. I tried four browsers on PI OS and PC Win 11. Long story short. What I have found to work is.

  1. Create a new flight plan.
  2. Enter origin and destination airports.
  3. Save the flight plan.
  4. Build the route.
  5. Save it.
  6. Go flying.

Hope this helps until it’s fixed.

I found a solution that works everytime for me:

  1. Start by creating a quick flight plan in your EFB (Origin + Destination)
  2. Click on the “save” icon and select “Save to Web”
  3. Go to the Online Flight Planner
  4. Click on the Folder Icon to “Select Flight Plan”
  5. Choose the one you just created
  6. Voila… Now you can include an IFR procedure with SID, STAR, Performance calculation and save it back
  7. Go back to the simulator, now you will find it in the folder Icon in your EFB

This works for me. Thanks!
